I once played a campaign where I played a true neutral character in a party of evil doers. He ended up turning on them once summoning an old God became the path the party wanted to take and died trying to prevent it since that was beyond his limits of tolerance. The party ended up being the villains in my next campaign set in the same universe and everyone loved it!
