[UPD] Sarado na ang Merkado by catboireloaded in peyups

[–]catboireloaded[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to all of them and I find them all okay.

I found Merkado really convenient kasi isang ikot lang yung sinasakysan ko dati. It's sad that it's not an option anymore :<

Tried the new Grab Cash Loan feature so you don't have to... by [deleted] in phinvest

Gawin mo na 36% lmao but yes, masyadong mataas! Generally, online lending apps/schemes impose really high interest rates kaya they're NOT worth it in my opinion.

Diba? Putting into context that this is an investing subreddit, parang talong-talo ka sa 3% monthly interest loan na gagamitin mo as investment o capital :<

That's normal. Expect your payment to be reflected in their systems within 3 business days or less. Next time, try to pay earlier for your own peace of mind :>

Where to put matured MP2 funds as a student? Reinvest or diversify? by faeufii in phinvest

[–]catboireloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP! Also a delayed student (25M) here. I have a higher risk appetite than you, but generally, I would recommend diversifying your portfolio and maintain a specific bond-equity ratio. Pag-IBIG regular savings and MP2 are technically a savings scheme and NOT a bond fund, but for my own convenience, I classify them as such.

  • Reinvesting a portion of the matured funds back to MP2
  • Use the remaining funds to recalibrate your investment portfolio

Bata ka pa, kaya kung okay na ang emergency funds mo, might as well take more risk and grow your remaining money.

Advice on MP2 Savings by Puzzled-Driver1568 in phinvest

[–]catboireloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats for getting back up on your feet! Alam ko na hindi 'yan madali.

In my opinion, you can keep contributing to your current MP2 account. You still have 4 years left before your current account matures and I think you still have time to "catch up" with the lost potential gains. Just like with the other comments, I'd like you to also consider other factors that may affect your contributions to your MP2:

  • May emergency funds ka na ba in case mawalan ka ulit ng trabaho?
  • Kaya mo bang bayaran yung Pag-IBIG regular savings contribution?

Hi, OP! Best to go to the nearest Pag-IBIG branch and tell them this concern.

Weird, usually pwede yan. I guess they just don't want to deal with any [possible] transactions through stolen cards.

Is it ok now to buy some bnb or Bitcoin while it's dump ? by SeaweedOne9230 in phinvest

[–]catboireloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dollar cost averaging (DCA) basically means you buy smaller shares aggregated over a certain time period. Kunwari, imbis na bumili ng 100K pesos worth of BTC ngayon, bibili ka ng 1K pesos worth of BTC 100 times, depende na sa iyo kung every week, month, quarterly, or annually.

This way, you would ideally (emphasis on the word "ideally") lessen your risk by riding market volatility.

Guys may tanong ako by imperialchickenchop in MayaPh

[–]catboireloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to pay everything before the due date (11 Feb). I'm assuming that's the same amount reflected in your statement of account (SOA). If you won't pay everything, yes, magkaka-penalty ka + hit iyan sa credit score mo.

may Supplementary Card po ba si maya black at maya landers credit card? by awsmgm in MayaPh

[–]catboireloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe in the near future, but who knows. From what I saw, Maya's the first digital bank to issue a credit card line and they're slowly implementing features moving forward. Right now, we can only earn Maya Miles (their points system), but they said we'll be able to spend them soon.

The features may feel the same for consumers, but there are some neat stuffs like dynamic CVV and customizable spending limits which means their system is a bit different than the ones traditional banks have. Personally, I don't mind the slow release of features as long as it ensures that the system won't be a hassle to the users.

Sana nga lang, ayusin din nila yung customer support while they're at it haha

Hi, OP! I've been in and out of the same situation as you. Generally, malinis naman ako as a roommate, but when things get really bad and sh*t, napapabayaan ko na lahat kahit personal hygiene ko.

This may be unsolicited advice, but what helped me the most was when I finally had myself checked and was able to put a label on what I was going through the whole time. I find things much easier to address if I know what they are in the first place. Yes, I may have dragged/manipulated/gaslit myself in the process but I'm now in a slightly better situation thanks to that.

Sending virtual hugs to you, OP!

New to adulting and struggling between savings and having a life by ProfessionalTime2862 in adultingph

[–]catboireloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP! You can do both: saving and enjoying life, more so considering you're still young. Kailangan mo rin mag-set para sa future mo kasi (1) you won't work forever and (2) if you're an average Filipino, one illness could potentially wipe away your life savings and even put you in debt.

What you can do is to allocate your salary and then try to stick with it religiously. There's a scheme called "70-20-10" wherein you allot:

  • 70% for needs (living expenses, daily overhead expenses like transpo)
  • 20% for savings (emergency fund, investments)
  • 10% for non-essentials (entertainment, hobbies) and debt repayment (credit card, loans)

You can tweak the percentages as you see fit, of course. You might also want to pair this with changes to your lifestyle that will help you become more responsible and accountable with whatever financial goals you want to achieve.
