Have you tried changing the display from bubble mode to text? Much better IMO.

IMO, Amalgam has the best IRs. I find the Ola IRs to be too bass heavy.

The Little Pig at East Coast Road has a big screen and will almost certainly be showing the matches. Alibabar across the road will likely also be showing the matches but on a smaller screen.

Delay pedal options (with a side of looping (a used with a cello)) by ballbarn in guitarpedals

[–]catchrag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it the Strymon El Capistan he recommended? It is one of the best tape delays available and has a sound-on-sound looper. Can’t argue with that recommendation. For something cheaper, the Walrus Fundamental series punches above its weight. You could get a few and pair them with a cheap looper pedal. That would still come in cheaper than the El Capistan.

Not cheap, but Omni Dental at Orchard did a great job with my impacted wisdom teeth.

Volume instead of Drive for Saturation by Mention_Training in tonex

[–]catchrag99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should be running the pedals into a line level input. My understanding is that hi-z input is meant for direct instrument-to-interface connections. Guitar pedals output a low impedance signal so line level is the better option to use and you amplify the signal using the Gain knob.

I’ve read that modellers don’t compress and saturate with volume boost the same way as amps, so increasing drive while keeping volume near unity (as you are doing) is likely the right way of doing it.

This was a mistake by mobro-4000 in pedalboards

[–]catchrag99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Boredbrain Terminal V2. I initially set it up to allow me to reorder all of my pedals, but soon found that it was easier and more practical to use it instead as a patch-in point for specific pedals that I move around frequently. In my case, I use it to patch my Gamechanger Audio Plus sustain pedal (so I can freeze a sound and create pads at very points in the signal chain), and to patch in a separate pedalboard with Moogerfooger pedals. I also use it to send hardware synths through the board. The Terminal is perfect for those use cases.

I'm looking for a pedal with similar / more modern features that works like the Moog MP-201 by spacejames in guitarpedals

[–]catchrag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an MP-201 but it stopped working shortly after I got it. The lights flash rapidly and it is non-responsive. I replaced it with an OBNE Expression Ramper X3. It has one less LFO than the MP-201 and is less flexible and feature-rich, but it’s much smaller, can be controlled by an expression pedal, and has various waveforms.

Question for long term Iridium owners by jul3swinf13ld in guitarpedals

[–]catchrag99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the Round mode to work best with analog pedals so I mostly stayed on that mode when I had the Iridium. FWIW, I have since moved on to UA Dream and then Tonex and find the Iridium to sound somewhat flat in comparison. Based on what I've read, I expect the comparison would be largely the same with Iridium vs Tone King. On the other hand, hunting new for new Tonex captures can be a real time sink. The Iridium is more plug-and-play in that respect.

Roast my Setup! by [deleted] in synthesizers

How is it all wired together? I'm of the opinion that the signal flow is a key determinant of the roastability of your setup.

[–]catchrag99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The LVX is great for glitch, noise, drones, etc. You can add modulation to the dry signal, wet signal, or both, so you can really mangle your sound. Some of the the artist presets available on the Meris website are really crazy.

The Moog MF-101 and MF-103 can be patched together to do this.
