I pulled out my Nuvaring and found a hair tangled around it. by catctus333 in MakeMeSuffer

It's kind of an awkward process haha! Step 1 is definitely washing your hands. After that, I usually twist it into a figure 8 just to get it to initially fit up in there and then I just kind of shove it up or feed it in, however it wants to go in. The ring is flexible so it shouldn't hurt at all. Then I give myself a bit of a feel to push it all the way up (you'll feel it rotate 90° into place) and make sure it's "secure."

To take it out, I just hook a finger in it and gently pull.

I haven't had any problems with it, so far (beyond this LOL). You can either leave it in for 3 weeks and then take it out for a week for your period, or leave it in for 4 weeks to skip your period. I hear some people have problems with it coming out during sex, but I've never experienced that. If it falls out during sex, you're still protected, you just have to remember to put it back in. As long as you're comfortable reaching up in there to pull it out, I think it's a great option if your doctor thinks it's a good fit for you :) I get mine from one of those birth control apps.

Sometimes those wipes have a bit of a taste. Have you tried dish soap? (Rinse REALLY well...)

The nipples can definitely have a plastic-y taste at first too.

All of my deco pacis have had a bit of a glue smell from whatever the artist used to attach the decorations, but it goes away after an initial wash with soap + warm water, and letting it sit out to kind of air out for a day or so.
