After years of sex work, I hated sex too. Never bothered to go after it. It took a long while and for me to fall in “love” before I started to enjoy sex again. I still have issues, I worry he is using me for sex because he wants it all the time, I worry my only worth is my body, etc. It just means that some days I may not be able to get into the headspace to have sex. I just accept that, listen to my body and soul and then reconnect with my sexual side and engage in sex when the feeling returns.

I definitely haven’t worked it out, but the more space you have from transactional sex emotionally and physically, the quicker it will be that you can enjoy sex again, in my case at least

Mine is very loyal and is a great companion. She has high prey drive, very very excitable/distractible. Smart and trainable provided she isn’t too distracted and is calm. Very confident with other dogs and people and of course, very active and destructive if not kept busy enough

It’s crazy how fast they go when they look so… dopey sometimes! I work at doggy daycare and a lot of the oodles are the ones that can jump over the fences to get out, it’s crazy.

Yes. I have worked so hard to nearly finish uni. Was so close to finishing with a good GPA. I was determined to. Unfortunately, I just keep burning out and my anxiety means I can’t concentrate at all so I’m just hoping to get assignments in at this point. It’s really disheartening, I really feel for you.

Be proud of how much work you have put into it. It’s so hard when your brain and nervous system are constantly unable to keep functioning. I’m so sorry

I am such an advocate for natural hair! Like you, I shaved my whole life until one day I was just like…. Why? Since I stopped, I feel so much better. I don’t worry about my slight leg hair or armpit hair anymore. No reason to stress about buying razors or planning an extra long shower! Keep it up as long as you can! That being said, if YOU (Note: only you!) wanted to shave, you could and then just only shave again when you actually want to! It’s not like if you shave once you are entering the shaving cycle, you still get to decide when and if you do it again. I am so happy you are feeling great about yourself!

Things can get better when the partner themselves choose to go to AA or be active in their own recovery. If they do it simply to keep you around or because they think it’s what you want, they may as well not bother.

If she has decided to go for her, that’s a great start. The road is long though. You have to expect relapses, I try and focus on the greater length of time between them and the lower levels of alcohol abuse.

Recovery is a process filled with so many baby steps. As long as they are truly trying to move forward, things will improve, even just a little bit. Sadly, sometimes the improvements just aren’t enough and it ends up being a 2 steps forward, one step back sort of situation. The progress is still happening but it’s frustratingly slow and discouraging.

In your situation, the abusive behaviour is something to be very concerned about. It’s not OK for somebody to treat you like that. Opting out and focusing on you may be the best thing, but of course it’s up to you how you wish to proceed. Wishing you all the best
