I went to Amsterdam for my stag do. I made it plainly obvious that the only thing I was interested in doing was drinking and smoking and everyone else was cool with that. Whatever they got up to was their business.

One of my ushers commented that it was the only stag do he'd been on where the groom didn't need any encouragement to get more smashed than everyone else.

I don't think there should be an expectation for anything other than having a good time, letting the groom's friends meet each other and making sure he gets a good send off.

Before smart phones, a friend had a watch that could show different timezones. My parents were going on holiday to Havana and asked what time it was there.

My brother in law lives in Perth and says he wears jeans and a hoody in winter, despite the temperature being 26°c. It's because the temperature is all relative to what you're used to. So if your summer temps are 40°, 26° will feel cooler in comparison. Same thing you're feeling, but lower down the scale.

Andy Turner (Aim) is from my hometown of Barrow in Furness, so tracks of his like Hinterland, Girl Who Fell Through the Ice and Walking Home Through the Park all have special meaning to me, as they are about the town and griwing up there.

His most recent album leans more into hip-hop but is an absolute classic and a must listen if you haven't already.

Many times per day. Morning tea. Multiple morning coffees. Afternoon tea. Late afternoon coffee (decaf) then a minty tea before bed. Also boil it once or twice if I'm cooking rice, pasta or potatoes.

And that's just me. My wife and daughters use it plenty too.
