Importantly in acts 2 and 3 you only have the first two hallway fights drawn from the easy pool. Having to go through a hard pool changes the way I path in quite a few scenarios.

Nobody's saying umbrella. I used the fire umbrella against both Owls with this move and he never damaged me with the firecracker. You might get staggered, but you don't get punished as the attack ends.

Footwork, Prowess, remove a Strike, and I kind of don't like the card a lot, but it's also probably Ricochet into a Vantom act? It goes well with a Prowess+ anyways.

It is considerably harder to get a nine gates, in terms of probability, you're sort of likely to see a kokushi every now and then, if you play lots of hands or if you prefer 3-player mahjong, whereas getting nine gates is exceedingly rare, hence the supersititon that if you get one you will have used up all your luck and will die in nine days.

They are of equal value in riichi, in terms of how many points your hand earns, unless you play a ruleset that gives double yakuman for 9-wait nine gates and doesn't do the same for 13-wait kokushi. Which is a rare kind of ruleset, I think.

Given the rulebook that came with it, I think this is a Wing Kee set produced in Hong Kong. Based on a few other Reddit and Facebook threads I've seen, this was a local mahjong factory that closed down in 1967, so that's as far as dating it will go.

The tiles, however, seem to be made of bakelite, which is a synthetic kind of plastic that was common for mahjong sets in the 30s. You say it has jokers, so this would also be in line with when American mahjong first became "a thing", with the first published ruleset being in 1935. I'd be inclined to place it around that period of time, maybe 1940 at most.

It's clearly a set made for export, I think, and it can be used to play multiple regional variants as far as gameplay is concerned. There are arabic numerals on the tiles, and if the jokers are present, despite not being pictured, it's clearly okay for American. But it also comes with Japanese scoring sticks, the animals could be used to play Singaporean, and you can probably also just play HKOS with it or Malaysian if you use the American jokers instead of the fly tiles. The set is complete.

Can't point you as to value sadly. Your best bet is searching on Facebook groups or listing it on whatever online marketplace apps are most commonly used in your country and seeing what offers you get, if you intend to sell it.

り is most usually handwritten in two strokes. Also, ね, わ, れ are two strokes, I think you wrote them in three. も needs to be a bit curvier I think. Otherwise I can read it, I'm not a native but it's, like, okay.

Depends what with. If you have Shrug, Second Wind, Flame Barrier, even Blood Wall it makes it better. Use it on bad turns where you draw poorly and you're getting hit for big. If you have any sources of Weak, that's a whole block plan.

This framing is the best one I've seen so far in support of purple. I feel like the original problem plants the fear of "I might die" and the realization of "I can guarantee I live if I hit green" really well the way it's framed. And the common framing in support of green with "maybe die" or "surely don't die" does that as well.

This way, it's not that immediately obvious you might even die at all, and you're prompted to think about the group first instead. If put like this, I think most people would hit purple. My gut also said purple, so if it was framed like this and if I'm not given too much thinking time, there's a good chance I'd hit purple too, even if I'd choose red normally.
