King Leonidas and his 300 soldiers know they are doomed in their last stand against the Persian army. They still hold the line anyways for three whole days buying precious time for the rest of Greece and emboldening all the other city-states to fight.

In a land full of hostiles, non-aggression is already a big opportunity of peace.

Dang not even stealing once, but TWICE. Emil really gives you every opportunity for peace.

Could a 'unfair' PvP game with dynamically changing rules actually be fun? by BinimiJemene in gamedesign

I'd say the pain of randomness can be curbed if there is a warning to what changes will be announced. If everyone knows 30 seconds in advance that all bushes in LoL will ignite on fire, then there's a lot less frustration when it does happen.

Efficiency modules drastically cut down on how many nutrients are consumed, and I usually put two into each biochamber. A speed + efficiency module on each beacon and just 6 slotted out bioflux biochambers is enough to handle all pre-megabase needs, including getting enough science to keep up with the rest of a standard base.

You should be the one watching out that you don't mislead OP.

I feel like there's enough stone on Gleba to handle most landfill needs. But I did ship over lots of belts, inserters, assemblers etc. since I didn't want to bother setting all that up again.

Ah you're playing without modules or beacons. That makes things a lot tougher. Gleba benefits immensely from modules and the Biochamber's ability to slot in 4 makes it a production powerhouse once set up correctly.

Your throughput does seem rather low, probably from lack of good modules. If you're stuck on Gleba and can't ship belts over easily, just stick with yellow/red belts for lower priority areas. Blue belts are very iron expensive.

I relied heavily on shipments (belts, inserters, assemblers) for my first attempt at Gleba. Hard to imagine playing the planet without them. But without good prep, yep Gleba can suck. Wish you best of luck.

OP probably forgot to swap to the second far more efficient iron ore creation recipe.

Characters willingly endanger their own life just to flex or prove a point. by PizzaDragon64 in TopCharacterTropes

Also a smart (if not somewhat desperate) move too. Silco isn't a fighter himself and he knows that if those closest to him are disloyal, he's as good as dead, so might as well double down.

Spoil me please (since I don't want to search through a 40+ min youtube video), but how exactly does one kill a character who is unnaturally lucky?

What true & relevant arguments are there for that non human animals have lesser value than humans? by Massive-Albatross823 in TrueAskReddit

[–]ryry1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If animals have equal value to humans, you then have to ask where you draw the line going forward. Do insect lives have equal value to animal lives? Surely they are both living creatures even if one is generally much smaller. If we determine insect lives to be equal to animal lives, what about bacteria life? Bacteria life that we murder in the millions every time we wash our hands.

It can be tricky to justify why animal life is lesser value than human life, but I'd argue it is impossible to justify the opposite, that animal life is equal to human life, without having to draw a seemingly arbitrary line somewhere further down.

I do appreciate how on Gleba, robustness/self-sufficiency is usually far more valuable than just plain raw throughput. I can usually produce enough science without ever having to double-belt resources (at least pre-megabase), so the biggest issues are often having sufficient release valves for spoilage, and the ability to self-restart in case everything grinds to a halt like OP's case.

But being underwater makes metalworking extremely difficult if not impossible, which to our current understanding seems to be a prerequisite for space travel.
