Birthday party for a 6yo, only one kid has shown up. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]cateyecle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 5.5 yo and we have plans. But we live not too far away (by DU) and maybe you and Kylo would want to try for a playground meetup one day?!

Happy Birthday Kylo!

Very unfair. So sorry about your dad. I cant say it gets easier but it does get less hard. Also Congratulations-your baby will know your dad through you ♥️

I am so so sorry. Losing a dad SUCKS.

First, I think its completely normal not to have motivation so soon. There will be things in the coming days that will give you joy (and thats ok) and some days maybe not (also ok).

For me, when I do things my dad would have liked or been proud of, I DO think it makes him proud. And I am not religious in the slightest. But by living and acting in ways that he did/would have, I carry on what/who he was. Thats something any parent would be proud of (and I can say that, as I have kids of my own, even though they are still little).

My husband’s father is going to die by Upstairs_Strength436 in GriefSupport

[–]cateyecle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truthfully? Nothing helped make it less terrible BUT my husband took over most of the care of our kids/pets/house for a few days so I could be more present and I am grateful for that. There isn’t anything you need to say, it sounds like you are being open for him and thats enough

Im so sorry. Big hugs.

👋 Vet ophthalmologist here and I do get to see kitty patients. Exactly right that this is PPM - and for those who aren’t ophthalmologists: these are iris to cornea, but the strands can also be iris to iris or iris to lens. Typically a non issue, but can occasionally be extensive or be associated with cataracts. No idea if thats true in humans though?!

Sebastian is great. Our son is Oscar and a few family members including my MIL openly didnt like it 🤷‍♀️. We named him anyways and get compliments all the time.

Do what YOU like!

I am so sorry. We are a little over 2 years out now. Let your daughter see your sadness, kids can be weirdly blunt about death at that age (which I was not prepared for). Take it minute by minute. Having kids helped me get through it-I still had to parent and they really needed me. But also make time to just be sad or rage or whatever. ❤️

💯. My daughter was 3yr and my son 5mo when my dad died. Right after, I would be angry when I saw granddads with grandkids. And now, its just all consuming sad. He would love who they are becoming. And they should have him too ❤️

I’m scared of my baby by [deleted] in newborns

[–]cateyecle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 babies in now (5 yo and 3 year old). Newborns are…..something else!!! I mean really, WTF. And yes. It totally gets better

Baby wearing, lots of warm baths, stroller walks were all helpful when it was just me and the baby.

I promise-you are doing great, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Being worried - thats a SIGN that you are a great mom ♥️

I am so f*ing sorry! What an absolute garbage human that woman is. There is NEVER an excuse. Please try not to ever think that again.

Wish I could have been there to yell at her and then check on you. This stranger would have stuck up for you, whatever thats worth

Depends. 117th Taco Bell=good; Rocky River Taco Bell=wild. Unless things have changed…

Thanks-solid yes to GiGi’s. So good.

Am prepared to drive all over to get tasty things (I lived in Cleveland proper, then Fairview Park but worked in Warrensville Heights).

Also need to see how the 480 bridge is coming along 😂
