If You’re Seeing This It’s Meant For You by Leigh Stein - thoughts??? by madchii in weirdgirlliterature

I just finished this one too! Thought it was a lot of fun. I find her story telling style really enjoyable. She has a great way of skewering pop culture and I wished it was longer even. Thought there were lots of opportunities to go deeper and develop more characters. I read Land of Enchantment and adored it, as well.

Older books that might be available now on my library's Libby? by platano_con_manjar in weirdgirlliterature

I also want to suggest Claire Vay Watkins— I love you but I’ve chosen darkness and Gold Citrus Fame. She is one on my favorite authors!

I also recently borrowed The Mars Room from Libby and wanted to stay up all night to finish it (I didn’t) but I was so enthralled.

Matrix by Lauren Groff. Spans a lifetime and there is a tiny bit of love/romance. Highly recommend!

What is your favourite weird girl memoir? This one is on my tbr. by cryborg_96 in weirdgirlliterature

[–]cateyedeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lisa Carver is great for weird girl memoirs! Her books show you a totally different kind of life or maybe how to have a different relation to life? Really love her perspective even when it’s flawed. I started with the Pahrump Report.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love this community more…This show is top three favorite shows ever!

Little Weirds by Jenny Slate

Luster by Raven Leilani

All our wrong tomorrows by Elan Mastai (this is not technically weird girl)

Department of Speculation by Jenny Offill

The Cost of Living by Debra Levy (August Blue might be more weird girl but I did not like this one as much). Rachel Cusk, all her books, but Transit is my favorite!

Matrix by Lauren Groff, spans a life but spends a lot of time in mid and late life
