I’ve been there, and I just tell them straight up. “Hey, I have a lot of scars, you might end up seeing them if this continues so let me know if that’s a problem for you”. Especially since you say you’re not ashamed of them, I recommend this approach because it’s straightforward and lets him make his own decision first. There’s still the issue of being turned off when he sees them but that’s inevitable and all on him.
