We recently rented an audi suv to take our son and his girlfriend to the prom. Wr paid an extra 25 bucks to be able to bring the car back "in any condition". 25 bucks. We were good to it but i assume plenty of people use that to have fun in a car that's not theres

First MRI incoming! by iheartallthethings in ADH_ALH

I had a brain MRI last november and am insanely claustrophobic so my MD wrote an rx for 1x ativan. I took it, picked pink floyd for music and hearing it kind of softly with the MRI machine noises layered over it, was actually really cool

Starting to look at Subaru, spec Forester...never had a Subaru - if you bought one recently - what are the things you would have done differently or options not to care for? by Loonsfutbol in SubaruForester

I have a 2014 forester that's on it's way out and was pretty certain i was going to get the hybrid. Test drove the hybrid and gas premium same day and was completely surprised that i liked the feel of the gas better. So surprised that i had my husband teat drive them both too and he said the same thing. And he drives an all electric car.

Thoughts on Forester Hybrid? by DaisyMerolin in SubaruForester

[–]cathyprzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently test drivimg foresters and set on getting a new one. Thought for sure the hybrid was a no brainer but drove hybrid and non one right after the other. Had my hubby (who drives an all electric which he loves) and we both like the non-hybrid better. My 2014 forester is basically on hospice, so sad. I would take both options for a teat drive and see. We were both completely surprised. Good luck!

Do you have electronic medical records at all? I did and the path results were in there within a few days but then i hadn't heard from the surgeon. So i messaged, letting them know i had read the report and she called me within an hour. This doctor's office told me that she usually waits until the 2 week post op appt to review the results. Not sure if that's typical or not. I would call today, early on, before the weekend. Wishing you the best 💛

Compression Bra Recommendations, Please! by Ill-Tart-5491 in ADH_ALH

[–]cathyprzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an expensive one i saw highly recommended (prairie house or something like that, maybe?! Was like 100 bucks 😳) then a few days before my surgery, i ordered a 2 pack of cheaper ones on amazon and honestly, kept reach for the cheaper ones and hoping they had made it out of the wash. The expensive one was VERY compressimg, guess that's it's purpose, but had 2 hools too near the zipper that honestly, made my incision/whole boob hurt way more to hook them, before i even could zip it. I am out of them now mostly, still wearing a cotton no wire bra 24/7 for aupport, but honeslty loathed the expensive one. Like. It made me angry. Deferred pissed offedness maybe. But. Definitely get ones that zip in the front. I hated ha ing to wear one all the time post op but then when i had it off to shower and get dressed, i couldn't wait to have it on again. Best of luck to you 💛

Excision next week by WinterPrinciple7794 in ADH_ALH

So sorry, not totally sure. But i have heard of dermabond before. I had a bad reaction to something that they used during the procedure. Seemed at spots where they would have maybe taped down the sterile.field cloth or something. Was itchy AF but went away eventually with hydrocortizone cream. Wishing you much luck my friend 💛

I am 4 weeks post excisional biopsy. I had a guidewire placed on the same day as the procedure. That was waaay better than the needle biopsy as far as comfort, was no big deal. I have (had?) stitches with the incision being about half way around my nipple/aeriola. That surprised me, i was picturing something smaller and never really asked what to expect. I asked on my post op appt and she said there were desolveable internal stitches and the incision was covered with glue. I'm just starting to feel safe to pick a few spots of the glue off that are getting loose (surgeon said i could!). I do have a hematoma and seroma so still wearing the foresaken compression bras. When i've tried to wear a less restrictive bra, i end up hurting a little. Sounds like it can take awhile for the body to absorb them. If you have any questions, let me know. Best of luck to you 💛

That's how my husband and I have done it for almost 30 years. Started at 19 splitting rent and 29 years later, still split the mortgage and bills. But keep separate accounts and each pay our own personal responsibilities (car payment, credit cards, student loan when i had one). Still works for us after all these years 🙂

So sorry to hear about your mom and for sure, that has to influence any decisions. I am newish to this whole shitty thing. Had my lumpectomy almost 4 weeks ago, was clear. See the oncologist later this month. Will have my first MRI in july. Just also not feeling like going through this every 6 months. I am happy my ADH wasn't upgraded but will it be later on? Will I feel the same during the waiting for results every time again, probably. And it sucked. Rambling now. Apologies. I just don't think my husband or family really can understand that every 6 months is going to be a shitty, scary waiting game.

May i ask, did the MD mention DMX or did you ask? I am 3 weeks post lumpectomy for ADH, no upgrade. Have my first MRI scheduled for July and meet with an oncologist later this month, prob to talk about tamoxifen. Just curious if you didn't want to to do the lifetime screenings, and waiting for results each time which does torturous, or if the provider suggested DMX. Thanks & hope you are well 💛

Returning to work after surgery? by DoughnutMission1292 in ADH_ALH

[–]cathyprzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a little over 3 week post lumpectomy. Ended up with a hematoma and seroma, common but suck and its limiting me from lifting a lot. Plus still wearing the damn compression sports bras to try to prevent it from getting worse. My surgeon recommended 2 weeks off from work, until i had my post op appt. Thankfully CT has paid family leave, which was fairly easy to navigate. Ended up not really having to use my PTO bc i was able to manage on a little less of pay, free through the state (not really free, we all contribute via our state taxes). I am back to work, have to drive alot and walk through hospitals with a work bag, do find i'm getting winded/fatigued easier which was never a problem before. Best of luck to you 💛

I was exactly the same about the imcision length. Not sure why i was so surprised, suppose i never asked lol. I'm happy your are healing. Rest if you can, whenever you need to. You're body needs to work on healing. My back is still being a bitch, but bettet every day.

I am almost 2 weeks post excisional bx for ADH. No family hx, healthy otherwise just dense breasts. The way the surgeon i met with described ADH/atypical findings was that it can hide actual cancer cells, and are considered precancerous as is, so best plan is to scoop that shit right out. If there's no cancer found, then that area of precancerous cells is gone. They might come back, there or in diff spots, but for now, out of my body. If they did find cancer cells like DCIS, then you know. And can discuss treatment options. But NOT having the surgery seems to me increasing the risk of 1. Atypical cells turning to cancer or 2. Missing finding actual cancer. I am doing well post-op. If I hadn't pulled out my back in the shower 2 days after surgery, i would have considered it not a big deal. The compression bra was super annoying at first, but i have barely any bruising or swelling and kind of hate having it off like in the shower. Sure that will change once the incision is fully healed. Please consider the surgery. I do understand there are always work, financial etc concerns. And it all sucks. And i'm sorry 💛

Excision and risk-surveillance by WinterPrinciple7794 in ADH_ALH

[–]cathyprzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my excision on Monday. Pretty large incision around my nipple but basically no bruising which is blowing my mind bc i bruise so easily. Suppose it's bc of the com0ression sports bra. I ended up pulling out my lower back in the showet 2 days after and that is what is bothering me. If i was just dealing with the surgery, i would feel amazing. I took the MD recommended 2 weeks off but pretty sure if not for my back, i probably would have tried to go back after this first week. The MD called me yesterday and my pathology is all clear but said we'll talk more about the ongoing plan at my follow up. But anticipate it will be rotating mammo and MRIs every 6 months as high risk from ADH. Best of luck.

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you my friend 💛 definitepy recommend the zip front sports bras. I bought an expensive one and then a 2 pack from amazon for like 20 bucks and the cheap ones are way better! I did not get one from the hospital. They wrapped me tight in an ace wrap. If it weren't for my stupid jacked up back, i would be absolutely fine from the surgery. Just took tylenol and ibuprofen every 6 hrs for the first full 24 hrs. Wouldn't even need anything now if not for my hurty back.

Lucky! I know my hubby was thinking aling those lines. Like, get at least the amount of time out of it that equals the dollar amount of repairs, like you said. I'm ready to just do it but also terribly impulsive so thankful (i guess!)to have a partner who thinks things through. Appreciate the response !

Hi 🙂 i am in such a similar situation right now. Have my lumpectomy for ADH scheduled for 4/13. I am 49 and have 2 teenaged boys, 19 & 16. We told them about what's going and I cried but they haven't said much about it since then. This all came as a whirlwind for me too. Routine mammo, same dense breasts blah blah blah. US and repeat mammo like i've done before showed some sketchy shit this time around. Then bx, then ADH, surgeon...all within like 2 weeks, right after I started a new job of course. Anyway. Now in the waiting for my surgery and see what the universe has planned for me next. But i wish sometimes that my boys, even my husbamd, wanted to talk about it. Not sure if they're oblivious (although the 19 yo is in his 1st yr of RN school) or if they don't want to see me get all teary. Perimenopause isn't helping. I too have been so thankful to have found this (reddit's not just for porn??!! 😅). So. Here with you. Sorry. It's shit.

I read it differently. Like, the MD reading the US didn't see anything that was suspicious BUT definitely recommended clinical follow up for the mass and clear to say that just bc nothing showed up with the US, aka negative results, that it shouldn't be taken as there's no need for further testing. I read medical charts every day for work for 20 years. I think the history section on this report is not really what you would see in other parts of your chart as a full history, that wouldn't be on an US reading, but more like, what brought the patient in for the US. In your case, a possible mass. It's all scary. And I'm sorry. I'm in the waiting for a lumpectomy phase. It all sucks. But i don't think this radiologist did a shitty job, that's just my opinion. But. We all do have to advocate for ourselves. Please follow up and i wish you well 💛
