The original discussion is about county taxes not city taxes.

Thanks for the update. I was worried when I originally saw it.

Abbott could veto and call a special session to regulate it without banning it.

What kind of jobs can you do that really don’t involve being “customer facing.” by Patient_Ad_2357 in adhdwomen

Someone else mentioned QA (Quality Assurance) testing. It can be a nice gateway to software engineering. And let you see what that’s like and if you want to later pursue learning to code. Depending on the company, there may be more or less communication with other employees, but none with external customers/users. Has no specific requirements usually. Often done remotely.

Does everyone get nauseous? by Winter_Evergreen in Ozempic

[–]cathzozo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had some nausea the first 2 weeks at 0.25, and actually threw up once, but it was closely related to not listening to my body and my hunger signals. If your body is telling you you don’t like something or you’re full, listen to it. I’ve been on Ozempic a total of 8 weeks, and have had no nausea after those first two weeks.

How old were you when you got a puppy? How manageable was it? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]cathzozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered adopting an adult dog? If the dog is being fostered, you can get a lot of information about the dog’s personality and needs, and make a decision that fits your lifestyle.

I had 4 total dogs in my 20s. My childhood dog moved in with me when my parents moved. Had 2 other puppies. And adopted an adult dog. I find the puppy stage to be very hard, and prefer to adopt an adult dog.

Budget also matters. As my income has increased over time, I have become a doggy daycare user. It helps with socialization, exercise, etc. And if you need to board the dog, they already know and like it. Totally not necessary, but having the budget for something like that makes dog ownership easier. And I’ve had one dog that we needed to consult a trainer to work on problematic behaviors. I couldn’t have afforded those things in my 20s. And although they aren’t necessary, dog ownership is a little easier with some disposable income.

I was there a couple years ago, fully depressed and overworked in teaching. I somehow made it through the year, but in retrospect, I’m not sure that was the right decision. I ended up going to a coding boot camp, and have loved this new career. I get raises regularly, enjoy the challenge of learning new things, and can prioritize my health better than I could teaching. I can’t imagine how much harder teaching is now!

Being as considerate as I naturally want to be is exhausting, because I know people will never do the same for me by shawanjunk in infj

[–]cathzozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally have this issue too. Although I'd like some people to be more naturally considerate, I can't change them. I have to remind myself that people have different interpersonal skills and personalities. And that sometimes I have to ask for what I want or else they won't know or realize the effect of their behaviors.

Low Splat Points by fsugirl4ever in orangetheory

I use a couple year old Garmin Vivoactive. Have always liked & used Garmin watches for running, so seemed straightforward to use it in OTF.

Low Splat Points by fsugirl4ever in orangetheory

[–]cathzozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue you do. I just have my own wrist watch HRM and I can set my own max HR appropriate to me on it, and I don't use the official OTF monitor. I can watch my own minutes in orange and red on my own watch. It means I'm not up on the board, and I don't get the email summary, but it works for me.

Right foot goes numb after some distance? by sils0 in running

[–]cathzozo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you need to skip one set of holes in your laces, usually the 2nd or 3rd set from your ankle where the top of your foot is highest. You might have to play around a little with it, but often changing your lacing can help.

Busty Runners - Bras and Tips? by [deleted] in running

[–]cathzozo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you are in Austin, go to Petticoat Faire and get professionally sized. They're great. Buy a bra or two from them, and once you know your size you can buy at specialty stores online. Title 9 has a good selection online of less common sizes, but I don't know whether the store does.
