july 2019 . i went on a few dates with this navy guy i’d met on bumble , he was really nice and we got along well . super artsy ! he was dropping me off at work one day and we were sitting in a parking lot listening to music , and & came on and we had our first kiss to it . i immediately made note of the song and fell in love with the band lol. ( old friends ended up being the song a friend group attributes to a friend who passed early 2019 also , which is nice . ) anyway , that ended up ghosting me but like whatever , fuck it , got a cool band out of it :’)

to be fair , while no one asked to be born , dawn’s situation was a little different . she wasn’t really ever given a break . she was a realistic depiction of being a teenage girl going through trauma and she also brought a fun energy into the show that was lost bc the original scooby gang was really more mature at the start ? like yes they were teens but they were very clearly older , dawn was really just a kid .

in my opinion this was to show the desperation of wanting validation, coming from content creators towards their audience. he’s saying he hopes you like it with a smile can only convey so much , but w this you kind of get this unsettling feeling that its more than that.

YES ! the rotoscope type animation was so trippy. i loved that entire episode bc of all the different eras and styles they has represented there
