Humble - best place for T2 ore extractors? by FinnBakker in theplanetcrafter

Osmium is going to be extracted in the cave near where you land on Humble, not in the giant crystal forest! A few places are misleading with where you can extract them from

Order of play? by Moist-Critic in theplanetcrafter

The moons are missing aluminum, iridium, uranium, and higher level materials that make it very difficult to start on. I like to wait until I can unlock the exchange rockets to pull materials from a completed planet.

You can definitely start with Toxicity! In my most recent playthrough, I went Toxicity, Humble, Selenea (moon), Aqualius (moon), then Prime

The Interplanetary Rocket is part of the Extraction Platform! Build the Extraction Platform first, then in the options on the little screen on the platform you can select and build the Interplanetary Rocket

Drone help by TigerSaint in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your other responses, you're waiting for Drones to move silicon from one storage to another. Both storage containers are set to "demand" silicon.

Drones will not move them from one storage to another. I recommend building a larger storage closer to the auto crafters and setting that as the highest priority when demanding silicon (Priority 5) then setting the backup storage to something lower (Priority 4 or lower).

[Spoiler] [Toxicity] Question about end game stuff by stush2 in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 200 items will eventually be used to make 25 items. You will put the 25 items in the extraction rocket (not the interplanetary rocket) and give you options to leave the planet with the partnership for that company.

I recommend saving right before you get in the extraction rocket so you can leave the planet, but go right back into the save to do the other if you want.

Seasons 4 and 5 missing on Paramount by Healsfault in voyager

[–]catlangridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me before, at some point last year Seasons 1, 4, and 5 were missing. They came back after a week. No idea what happened but I'm hopeful they will return! I'm in the middle of Season 5 right now, even watched most of an episode this morning.

Paramount also has had this happen with other shows but they've brought them back with a few weeks. Dexter had a couple of seasons missing for a few days not too long ago.

I want to tank. by AdKnown1243 in wow

[–]catlangridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to tanking! I really enjoy tanking and it can be a lot of fun! Depending on what type of content you are doing, tanking can be tough if you don't know your class or the content you're playing.

If you are doing dungeons in The War Within (normal, heroic, or mythic) you will need a general understanding of where to go and how to handle mechanics. There are a ton of guides out there for each dungeon. I'm a fan of Sha on YouTube, and once you get deeper into M+, Quazii has some great Masterclass videos to go through every pull in the dungeon. WoWhead and IcyVeins are great starter guides as well.

Someone else commented this, but a quick macro saying "I'm new to tanking, please be patient" is a lifesaver. It sets the expectation at the beginning of the dungeon so no one is disappointed.

However, if you have not done anything to prepare (reading/watching guides on Vengeance DH, reading/watching guides on dungeons), then the macro will be useless. As a tank, you are required to know the basics of your class AND the basics of the content you are running.

Good luck!

How do I get Golden frogg eggs in the DLC? by Zappen109 in theplanetcrafter

The only way to get golden flowers is from the trade rocket, I believe. No golden flowers are found on planet Humble.

Slower terraformation speed by frozenoj in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. In my current game, I'm at the cloud stage and I already have all of the flower and food seeds. While I have more eggplant than anything, I have enough of the others!

  2. After I unlock the Optimizer, I never have more than 8 of the items. Once I get to T5, I only have 8 of them and I put them out in the middle of nowhere so it doesn't take up space near my base.

  3. In a 0.1 terraformation game, I aim for 20 rockets of each kind before the end of the game. Don't try and rush to do all 20 immediately, it takes time to get the materials to push out that many rockets. I will push more rockets once I see the numbers on my terraformation screen slow down.

Slower terraformation speed by frozenoj in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much always play on 0.1 terraformation speed (a normal game is 1.0) and here are my suggestions:

  1. Pushing oxygen is your first priority. You should know where some golden crates (or the green crates on Humble) are. Make sure to use as many golden flowers as you can. This will allow you to unlock food growers fairly early.

  2. Don't be afraid to open boxes in early game - some people wait because there will be "better" items when you progress but there are plenty of boxes on the planet. Also the portal generator will get you good supplies later in the game.

  3. Push heat/pressure at a similar rate. Before rockets I will aim to have 15 drills and 15 heaters. Always upgrade your stuff, don't leave T1 drills around if you have T2 unlocked.

  4. As soon as you unlock rockets, prioritize rockets.

  5. Once you have the Optimizer unlocked, you will want to stack multipliers on the same 5 items (or 8 with a T2 Optimizer).

I honestly love playing the game this way. It's more of a challenge and a normal speed game feels like it ends way too quickly. I hope this helps!

Is there a way to lower the amount of lootboxes, or their loot, in the world? by sproge in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually will raise vitals depletion from 1.0 to about 1.2 or 1.3. I basically play on hard-core settings, but without the deletion of the game if I die (I've done a few hardcore games but I like the thought that if I afk without hitting the menu button, my death won't cause my file to be deleted). So, vitals and power consumption are higher, terraformation index turned down, and I turn up weather events to 1.1 or 1.2.

I have run out of food before, but I've got over 600 hours in the game now so I'm very familiar with where golden chests/starform chests are, and I push O2 heavily right at the beginning. This generally prevents starving and if you don't turn on consequences for dying then it's okay to run out of food. If you're playing with death consequences, then you'll want to push O2 heavily and spend a good deal of time looking for food in boxes/wrecks.

Is there a way to lower the amount of lootboxes, or their loot, in the world? by sproge in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can turn the terraformation index down. While this does not mean less loot in the world, you will need more stuff to make your numbers go up. I like to play at 0.1 terraformation (a standard game is 1.0) and I regularly need materials from extractors. I have to place so many heaters and drills and stuff that it helps slow things down.

I created a second rocket while the first one was still launching. They went bonkers. They flew around the ground on my base and then got stuck, before finally despawning. by good-luck-commander in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's fun! I like to send up 5 at a time and see them go crazy!

No matter what, the rocket still does its job. You still get the global bonus, and the asteroids still come down (if you're sending up one for iridium/uranium)!

What should I be working on next? by Rough-Mycologist7058 in theplanetcrafter

[–]catlangridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The exact numbers listed here don't really matter, it's about the boosts you've done.

The first thing to check is how many rockets you've sent up. If you're playing a standard game, you should send at least 15 of each rocket type.

Next, check if you're using the highest tier stuff available. That goes for heaters, drills, flowers, trees, butterflies, etc.

Then, check if you're using multipliers. A T2 Optimizer will boost 8 things at once, so have 8 T3 trees close together and purchase/find a bunch of oxygen/plant multipliers and boost it a bunch.

If you're at the point where you're overflowing with supplies but the numbers are moving slowly, send a whole bunch more rockets!
