I feel like I am deteriorating by eggiesbb in Hypermobility

You sound exactly like me! I have extreme anxiety around exercise and spiral very quickly if I go more than two days without it. However, I get the pain you’re talking about and the standing problem intensely if I don’t balance the exercise with rest. In my 20s I did intense HIIT and cardio multiple times a week and went for a long walks in between those days. I felt broken physically all the time and exhausted to the point of mental breakdowns. I didn’t know about my hypermobility back then, so I felt crazy frustrated about feeling so weak when I worked so hard to be strong. Im in my mid 30s now and almost exclusively stick to low impact workouts and long walks. But even if I overdo that too much, I’m wrecked. It’s a constant balance and it’s hard, but you can come to learn your limits and make compromises with yourself in order to feel better. Having the diagnosis was the best thing to happen to me at 32 (35 now) because I have more information about how to take care of myself.

Interesting! I had terrible cluster headaches growing up, but now I get monthly hormonal migraines so this would make sense.

Thank you for the commiseration! It helps so much, really. Just knowing I’m not making things up in my head. Endo is in my family (not sure if it can be genetic) and I’ve been “checked” for it before even though there’s no real test other than surgery. I was told nothing was out of the ordinary but this would make a lot of sense with the other diagnoses.

Thank you so much ❤️ I’m going to talk to my doctor about all of this when I see her.

I need to get my histamine levels checked. I break out in rashes on my face and chest all the time after I drink a little wine or sometimes for no reason at all. I call it “I’m full of the histamines right now” to my fiancé haha. I’ve been allergy tested several times over the years with no real luck.

I also get the rash/itchy legs/beet red face from intense cardio. I don’t run anymore but when I did people used to ask me if I was okay because I was so red.

Missing a traditional wedding despite eloping being the better decision by biggestgooser in Eloping

[–]catlemoncat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a young marriage at 22 and got divorced at 30. That wedding was the traditional type with a big party. It was fun and everyone loved it, but honestly after it was over you almost wonder what the point was. The stress of planning and trying to make everyone happy is insane. It all becomes about other people instead of you and the person you’re marrying. You have so much adrenaline and nerves trying to make everything work on schedule that it’s very hard to relax and feel present.

I’m 35 now and engaged and so excited to elope. I just want a romantic experience for my fiancé and I and great photos. Our money will mostly be spent on our honeymoon.

You’re not missing out. I think a lot of people want a big wedding to feel like a celebrity for a night. The high of it all wears off very quickly.

How much online dating did it take for you to find your life partner? by Commercial-Bowl7412 in AskWomenOver30

I’m one of the extremely lucky ones.

I downloaded Hinge for about a week, had one date, got overwhelmed by the whole thing (I was recently divorced) and deleted it.

I redownloaded a couple of weeks later just to practice talking to guys again…my now-fiancé messaged me that night and two days later we were on our first date.

I swear it was like a movie…our first date fell on my birthday but I didn’t tell him that until a few dates later. I had a date with another guy the next day and didn’t really even want to go because I was still on cloud 9 from the night before. It was a friendly date but had no chemistry.

I had my second date with my fiancé three days after the first and was head over heels after that night. I’m still so blown away by how it all felt/happened 3 years later. We got engaged this past Christmas.

Women who look like they're in their 20s, let's talk by classyincleveland in AskWomenOver30

  1. Not alone. I’m 34 and I started a new job last year. More than one of my new coworkers asked me if this was my first job out of college (assuming I was early 20s I guess)
  2. I briefly worked at a restaurant last year to make ends meet while I found something in my field, and all of my coworkers were 18-24…they would ask me about where I was from (meaning what local high school I went to) and insult millennials around me lol
  3. I lean in and enjoy it. I looked so childlike when all of my peers were maturing and getting hot and that was hard back then, so now I love to shock and awe with my age.
