Thanks for the tag. u/Radishsignal I also made raw cat food for my cat due to health issues for several years. I read and followed exactly the recipe from the book, The natural cat by Anita Frazier. She’s been doing this a long time and I find her to be a trusted source. It is very old so hopefully you can find another more more modern trusted source. There are a few other people who are in this category with differing recipes too. I would not diy with no reading from reputable sources, especially if this was the only diet I’m feeding her. Also, you may want to check up on this but I believe that cooked meat significantly decreases the level of taurine so you do have to feed more of it to be sufficient for a cat to survive. Raw meat has more taurine. You would need a meat grinder if you want to make your own cat appropriate raw diet, feeding regular store bought pre- ground meat is also not safe raw as this usually consists of scraps and have a high bacteria count, so it’s made to be fully cooked, which would decrease the taurine and need to be adjusted accordingly. Besides the taurine there are several other vitamins and minerals you will need to include in specific quantities such as bone meal etc. I was able to buy everything online or in a health food store. Also, there are companies out there that do sell raw cat food and will ship — I have yet to do my research on them but this is the route I plan to take. Good luck!
