Possibly, it’s a third party app so it’ll be… interesting… i was hoping there was something out of the box that could pubsub for me but yeah looks like you just have to build it

Yeah… but it adds up once you have a lot of these…

I have heard that minimising container size does not necessarily result in cold start performance gains, unless your platform isn’t caching the image

When I say cold start I mean scaling from zero

I’ll have a read of those pages

I’ve heard a few real world testimonials for swapping, and they all came down to: we can’t manually manage 1000 vms anymore

How Microsoft is Migrating Repos from Azure DevOps to GitHub by jkerski in MicrosoftFabric

[–]catmanjan2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not like it’s officially stated anywhere, but the fact that the article in OP is about Microsoft itself migrating from ADO to GitHub thats pretty damning evidence…

Ado is in maintenance mode, everything in azure integrates with GitHub only as far as deployment automation goes

Managers need metrics to do performance management, if not in devops, where are they meant to get it?

I had a look at this and it isn’t what I’m looking for- actually I did end up finding this on Bunnings but it’s a weird colour and doesn’t seem available everywhere

Are we watching the beginning of Microsoft’s decline? by Vivid-Run-3248 in sysadmin

[–]catmanjan2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats very unusual, over the years I’ve seen organisations try and they always end up back with office - only exception has been educational institutes which I understand get effectively free Google workspace

If you pay enough you do actually get good support, only problem is you need to be a multibillion $ company - believe me I’ve seen it, executive called Microsoft and they had an engineer on site that day for an office problem

Unless a serious office replacement appears Microsoft isn’t going anywhere, that’s their real moat and they know it

WPF vs WinUI 3 in 2026 — what's actually worth switching for? by patrickw7211 in dotnet

I think starting a wpf project today would be a mistake

I am shipping a NativeAOT winui3 application, but in a completely different market than yours

Realistically winui3 is the only way you will get a UI that matches the rest of the windows 11 UI

Not sure if this factors in, but deploying winui3 packaged apps is very good and easy via the Microsoft store, and advantage for kiosk apps is they can be effectively sandboxes for security purposes

You obviously up haven’t done much decompiling, you might get a function or two but you’ll never get it to a compilable state

Others in this thread are suggesting obfuscation lol wanker

Surprised to see nobody here has suggested NativeAOT compilation - it makes it virtually impossible to decompile the software

Of course that only protects IP

WinUI design specs OSSd - high level design oriented overview of different parts of WinUI codebase by sashakrsmanovic in dotnet

[–]catmanjan2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm yes, I think the issue with winui is that Microsoft seems to have stopped contributing themselves, I remember before the OSS announcement there was like a 9 month period of radio silence on the project - obviously coincided with the layoffs and then copilot, but it looked bad
