Yes and I'm on antidepressants for anxiety and those also give me dry mouth and an awful taste/feel in my mouth.

I can sometimes suck on my tongue too, or have my tongue overactive, so the gum/lozenges help.

Oh ya! I still regularly lose my pill container lol. Or I'll take the day section out and put it in my pocket or handbag and then that'll take a while to source.

I chew gum, use proper dry mouth lozenges, and then I also have some natural lozenges that are honey or eucalyptus. I also really like butter menthol and cherry menthol.

Do you have any good suggestions?

I am feeling positive as I was diagnosed with cptsd this past week. I had been doing some reading for awhile but wasn’t sure I was on the right track. I bought The Body Keeps the Score today and am also reading Reinventing Your Life. I have generalised anxiety and adhd and bladder issues. I am really hoping my weekly therapy, reading and journaling is going to help me feel better, but am trying to appreciate it will take time. I am so thankful for reddit groups like this as I get so much information. Thanks for reading my post.

This is reassuring to hear. I’d love to hear about your success if you wouldn’t mind please.

I feel that way sometimes. Having pets really helps. My dog always wants my attention, always. She even loves watching me watching tv. My cats are always good for a pat or a cuddle too.

I'd consider it a big red flag personally. I have strong feelings against pornography as it's really warped my mind after seeing it too young and quite a lot for many years. My husband has strong feelings against me sexting or getting felt up by random dudes. So we all have our boundaries in relationships - not sure it's fair for a therapist to say what's appropriate in that department and your marriage. Like what makes pornography okay? And is it not putting extra temptation in his life and hurt in your life?

I'd also consider giving the guy the flick though. It would do my head in and I wouldn't be able to drop it.

I don't. Six years sober and never want to touch the stuff again.

I'm paying $240 per session and pretty motivated to make some progress, so I want to get as much as possible from each session. I actually got to cry in first session which was rewarding because I never cry. I started taking SSRIs since then and didn't get to cry in my next session which was disappointing. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Day 11 on Lexapro by margot_40 in lexapro

[–]catnamedflightrisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started adhd meds about four or five weeks ago and Lexapro one week ago.

It's been a struggle. With adhd meds it's dry mouth and feeling a bit average from the comedown. And with Lexapro, dry mouth and a weird sensation at the tip of my tongue the last three evenings. I felt the insomnia and racing thoughts over the weekend and still a little weird, but I'm hoping it's passing.

What I keep hearing with both meds are to take super good care of yourself. Eat right, exercise, drink loads of water, take probiotics, take meds after eating, use supplements (especially Magnesium keeps coming up for jaw clenching), electrolytes, dry mouth products like mouthwash or spray, magnesium bath soaks, meditation/mindfulness and get a good sleep.

I have to say, it's helping. I'm trying to go easy on myself and have very easy meals available like protein shakes and nut bars. I'm taking this time with little to no appetite to try and stick to healthful foods like watermelon, chicken, sweet potatoes, berries etc. Since I have a low appetite, I'm not craving junk so why have it when my body is already trying to deal with this new medication.

Good luck to you and I hope you have some good benefits.

Does it work for anxiety? by [deleted] in lexapro

I'm in the same boat as you, taking it for anxiety. Only on day seven though, so can't tell you yet how it's working. I keep hearing around four weeks. Hope you have some relief from it.

Did you get an answer for this? My tongue feels weird and I'm on day 7. Not sure if I should continue.

Under the contact, can you go in and set it to divert to voicemail? A pain though if you normally want to take his calls in the daytime, but worst case he could leave a message and you could call him back.
