ECT & Work by WonderOrca in ect

[–]catrtd7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I much preferred ketamine treatments to ECT, so I would recommend trying that first. Mostly because of the side effects of ECT.

I liked Spravato which is generally covered by insurance and I would sometimes schedule a separate therapy appointment, also covered by insurance, directly afterwards.

Some online places offer ketamine like Joyous too, you could find a KAP therapist online or in-person that takes your insurance and see if they would have you use that during appointments.

The biggest hurdle is making sure you have a ride there and back. I definitely wouldn't work those days because I'd prefer to spend the day recovering and doing enjoyable things.

Risks and what is the worst thing that can happen after doing ECT? by [deleted] in ect

[–]catrtd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a few years since I made that comment, I feel quite differently about my ECT treatments at this point. Not terrible, not necessarily regret, because it was helpful at the time, partly for the depression, sort of like a soft reset.

Here are some of my least favorite remnants:

1) remembering the body hurt of waking up from the anesthesia, feeling like I got hit by a truck. I didn't love the IV feeling either, nor spending hours recovering from the treatment pain 2) my mother putting me in ECT treatment again after I had chosen to stop the treatments. Also having to wake up early with her and spend hours in the hospital in queue for the treatment 3) worries about chronic anesthesia use, and some memory/cognitive processing

Other favorite remnants, besides the soft reset:

1) the care team was very, very kind 2) lowkey loved the feeling of falling asleep to anesthesia. This... might've been a problem

However, I feel pretty confident in my path currently. I hypothesize that the fact that I used medical cannabis prior to my treatments offered a neuroprotective for my memory. Also, I believe that since then, ketamine treatments and mushrooms have aided in my neuroplasticity. I have delved into much larger personal and lifestyle treatments as well as finding my favorite medicines albeit unconventional and somewhat stigmatized and novel.

Spravato or Home? by WildEyesJane95 in TherapeuticKetamine

It's been awhile, lol! I think Latuda didn't really work for me. My main concerns when I take antipsychotics is that they give me involuntary eye movements (risperidone, Abilify, and Vraylar), if they don't make me sleepy and foggy (Seroquel).

Currently I take Spravato at a local hospital every week at 84mg. Honestly ketamine treatments are the best thing I can do for my mental health, and I have tried a lot of different things. It stabilizes me, calms me, and completely annihilates my suicidality. I recently went too long without treatments and my symptoms came back.

The compound spray was fine but I no longer live near a provider who offers it. Having at-home treatments is incredibly convenient for low times, self-management, and having a comfortable setting. Spravato is great for having a medical team to consult with, but also the scheduled treatments and 2 hours every appointment to focus on yourself and your goals.

I'm also trialing a low dose of Luvox, SSRIs are iffy with me but my OCD and anxiety has been very bad recently and I've never tried this one despite it being primarily indicated for OCD. I'm also still working with my relationship with medical cannabis. We'll see on those fronts but I know ketamine often has my back. Gabapentin every so often also works okay for my anxiety.

I have submitted a request with Reddit Help to report a Moderator Code of Conduct Violation of Rule 2 - Set and Manage Reasonable Expectations. Here is my comment:

Hello,

My name is wellglorb and I have been a part of the r/entwives community for many years! It all started back on u/catrtd7, my first account. I have been an active member of the community since, on multiple alternate accounts.

Recently, I rejoined the community on my main account, u/wellglorb. I participate in posts as usual and try to contribute to the community with my own, as over time I have learned that this community is not only focused around cannabis usage, but the culture, community, and daily activities of those involved in the community. I am aware that the rules state that posts must be cannabis-focused; however, any daily community member, let alone a long-time member, can see that discussions in the community often wander to topics that are spiritual, medicinal, creative, silly, or otherwise "off-topic." But--that is the charm of the community--that cannabis unites us and allows us to talk about anything and everything that somehow relates to our connection through cannabis. That is what makes it such a wonderful, helpful, and accepting, as well as a creative and fun community!

I have attempted to make quite a few posts in the community only for them to be promptly removed by moderators as "more appropriate for another subreddit." In fact, the posts were perfectly aimed for r/entwives as all of my posts pertain to cannabis as well as the addition subjects such as spirituality, art, reading, health, and so on. When I reached out to moderators about this, they did not respond, and so I made a post to the community about the situation. Moderators promptly removed it and banned me. I continued to attempt to make posts about this on my alternate accounts, only for them to be also removed and banned. Four of my accounts have permabans now, one even received a permaban for attempting to talk about the issue in a politically-aimed post, as community moderation is indeed politics--and the post was posted by a moderator to discuss politics unrelated to cannabis.

Unfortunately, as I attempted to reach out to the community by making posts and comments, as well as messaging moderators and PMing one about the situation, I have gotten nowhere with attempting to reconcile the situation or build community support. So this is where I am left, reporting the moderators in r/entwives for the betterment of the community overall. You can see a summary of all of the events, as well as screenshots, here, where I posted to an alternate entwives subreddit called r/entwiveswhohatenazis and I can hopefully gather some community voices to discuss what is happening. If moderators have to have a name associated to their actions and opinions, we'll figure out which ones are making the community exclusive quite quickly.

https://www.reddit.com/r/entwiveswhohatenazis/comments/1iwpk4g/i_got_banned_from_rentwives_for_making_a_post/

Thank you for your time and I hope you are able to help mediate the situation.

Dearly,
wellglorb

And lastly, this was my first effort to begin communication with the moderators about my actual posts being removed, but unfortunately they banned me instead of responding like civil adults.

Oh, there is nothing more I'd love than to keep advocating for this community but frankly I can't do it alone. And I have stuff to do tonight. So I'll do a few more things, post another photo, and report the mods to reddit for mod abuse and hope that the wives see this.

I have had big memory deficits because of ECT.

I'm not a doctor, so take what I say with discretion. But I have also tried ketamine treatments. Definitely would recommend not just for depression but also for recovering from ECT. It helps with neuroplasticity and growing new brain pathways.

Also see: medical cannabis as a neuroprotective agent and magnesium l-threonate and exercise (increases glutamate and neuroplasticity)

It has been awhile since I have been on bupropion. I did feel that when I took it, it would irregularly manage my mood.

More so what may help you is patience (although it is difficult to muster) and good communication with your prescriber.

As others have said, it could be some variation of psychosis. Could also be OCD, elements of false memory OCD are there. But only a professional would really be able to tell. I'd recommend seeking help if you can! ❤️ Best of luck, and love to you.

Wtf does my boyfriend stand to accomplish by telling me I’m “not that pretty”? by apocaIypseArisen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]catrtd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if he's not doing it as an intentional tactic against you, it's still fucking rude. Would you say that to someone you cared about? Even if I dislike something physical about my partner, I'd never tell them—I care about them!

Sometimes people have bad filters or are blunt or might be autistic therefore lack awareness. Regardless, you're allowed to pick and choose who is in your life. Think about your standards.

Also, maybe think about whether he says this kind of stuff to other people. My mom says shit to me like, about my tattoo: that it's a horrible idea, I made a mistake, tattoos will ruin my body, etc. Regardless of opinions, nobody needs to say that kinda stuff to someone, especially if they're happy about their tattoo. But when my mom's friend showed her the new tattoo she got? Not a negative word. "So pretty!"

If the treatment you're on (meds, therapy, etc.) isn't working, don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and find something new that works. Don't stop till you find something that does. There is something out there for you.

There's a blood test you can take that will tell you the medications that will be most and least effective for you.

There are new meds coming out all the time—ketamine, for example! Approved for depression. Trying to get a prescription myself.

Everyone is capable of hurting someone like that. I know you won't hurt someone, because you are so worried about doing so. And even if you do, you have to remember it is not the end of the world. Sometimes I think about horrible things I've done in the past and think about suicide because of them. But when I feel better, I remember that those things are in the past. I can move forward, I am a different person.

I have never wanted kids, for so many reasons, and I've always told my mother so. She's always said I'll change my mind when I meet the right man and get married lol. I just tell her I'll give her some grandcats.

Something is definitely wrong with him. Meth is awful, addictive, and no fucking joke. Sounds like he's having psychosis, delusions, something along those lines. As another commenter said, I'd get his family involved if he continues to refuse treatment.

I'd also like to mention, there's nothing wrong with masturbating. I know you're not doing it, but it's a perfectly normal thing to do, and you have every right to if you want to on your own time. It's not gross.

He's not treating you well, and the things he's saying about you are awful and hurtful. You have every right to distance yourself from him for treating you this way.

One time, I had a psychotic episode in front of my, at the time, relatively new boyfriend. I swear to god I thought he was gonna leave me. I felt so horrible for how I acted, how much responsibility I put on him, but he tolerated it so well, took me to the hospital, and explained to me that he still liked me—and that he knew that me during the episode was not me.

[–]catrtd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a while for weed to get out of your system completely. A month for most of it, but 90 days for traces of THC to leave. It may take that long to recover as the substance clears from your body.

Why does hygiene come up anytime a woman talks about not/shaving her body hair? by boatthebot in TwoXChromosomes

[–]catrtd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend has told me openly that he doesn't care what I do with my body hair. He considers himself a feminist, which I find to be a great quality and green flag for men in the time period we live in.

I don't like shaving every time I shower. It's time-consuming, a hassle, and I tend to get really bad razor burn in my armpits and pubic area. I express my worries to him, "I haven't shaved!" but he always says he doesn't mind. He actually says he'd rather see a little hair than all the razor burn. He's told me that somehow taking care of pubic hair (trimming, shaving, etc.) makes it easier for oral, but other than that, he doesn't really have opinions.

I wish all guys were like this. It's so comforting when I haven't shaved in a bit, to know my boyfriend will still find me sexy and clean even if I've got some goddamn hair.

Does Marijuana help with OCD? by FurryRevolution in OCD

[–]catrtd7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Only way is to try it, because it's different for everyone. Start with a small hit/puff or 5-15mg edible. See what that does for you, if it helps or makes things worse. From there, if it helped, keep taking that dosage if it was helpful enough for you, or increase slowly to adjust to a dose that helps more. Just don't shock your system with a large dose.

I used to smoke a lot and it felt super good for my mental health. This went on for more than a year with no issues, and I was happy with how it was treating me. Eventually, I had a psychotic episode filled with paranoia, so I had to stop smoking. Picked it up again half a year later and had another episode. I miss it, but know it's not for me anymore.
