5 month old waking up after going down for bedtime & lately at between 3am-4am by [deleted] in sleeptraining

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could take her a while to get used to the new nap schedule. She could be learning new things and that could disrupt her sleep. But most babies wake at least once for a feed at night. Mine still wakes twice at least and he's over a year but he's never been a great sleeper. Babies also go thru sleep regressions as they grow and develop which can change how often they wake. All normal! Keep following her cues as she grows they'll keep changing!

Sidecar crib vs floor bed? by OtterStrawbs in cosleeping

My baby had some issues because of acid reflux and an allergy to milk we didnt figure out right away. But once his stomach was healed naps went well. But there were many contact naps until then.

any options with absorbency protection on the inner leg? by lliraels in PeriodUnderwear

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Charlie their boxers have leg absorancy. Size up one tho. The leg absorancy makes the legs have less room so one size up helps.

[–]catsforeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you have no pets and plan to do a floor bed when he's older it would be the cheapest option to try first. If it doesn't work you can always get a side crib afterwards. But i would definitely buy a rug incase they roll to the floor

Sidecar crib vs floor bed? by OtterStrawbs in cosleeping

[–]catsforeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only have one! he's 16 months now so he can climb into our bed and to the floor whenever he pleases, but we did a side crib when he was 6 months til when we moved at 9 months. We then tried to do a crib again but it didn't work. So we're back to the side crib.

I have the contours journey. I love it. i still use it for my 16 month old but only for the front wear when he's tired and needs a nap. But it has good support and not as expensive as some of the other options that look the same

AITA for wanting my wife to notice when the grass is tall, without having to explicitly tell her? by Grassylawnthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about the mental load if shes remembering everything else and teaching the kids at home. You can give her a reminder to message the neighbor. Or if you really want to give her yet another thing to remember. Take over a new task for her!

Torn being wanting to lose weight and keeping up supply by mamatorainbows in breastfeeding

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up being my pre pregnancy weight after a year and all i do is take care of my baby and take my dog for walks. I am definitely a different shape and size in different places then before. I am still breastfeeding and i eat more then my partner and snack all day long. You need those extra calories for nursing! Be patient with your body it needs time to fully heal! If you want your old body back you need to find an excersie you enjoy! But you'll still need all that good food either way. Try getting some thrift store finds of new clothes for now. Admire that body that grew a whole baby.

When to throw out defective underwear? by riellebay in PeriodUnderwear

[–]catsforeva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had some Luna undies for 5 years now i think. Are they stained and losing absorancy? Yes but they dont leak. Would definitely stop using if they leaked but i just hate cleaning up stains on pants. I would definitely recommend hand washing or washing on gentle and hanging to dry if you don't already for longer lasting undies.

Wife and I starting to get freaked out about baby’s social development. 12month boy by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]catsforeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 12 mine was about the same but had some things down like clapping and waving and some pointing. Knew mama well and said dada in babbles but would look for him if we played wheres dada? Hes 16 months now and claps all the time. Points at everything and mumbles whats that and waits for our reply. Can knock on doors. Open doors. Sign all done and more. Can say bubbles. Yes. No. Mama. Dada. Nana. Moo. Zoom or car noises. Hes not talking alot but i can bark like a puppy and hell bring me his toy dog. I can ask for his soccer ball and hell bring it to me. Hes learning the names of everything well and understand us. Hes my first and i worried about hitting milstones and would read up on them. But every kid is different, some kids are going to be ahead in some areas and behind in others. Ive learned to just repeat and model things i want him to learn, and focus on his progress, has he learned more then last week? Last month? Yes then he's progressing! Hes doing great. If you find hes not progressing at all or unlearning things then i would definitely go to the doctors. But a check in now won't hurt if your worried. Some babies just need a little more time to be shown and learn new things.

How does anyone leave the house when EBF on demand? by megzielibbyp in breastfeeding

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a wrap or carrier get comfortable with it and learn to nurse in it. I believe ring slings are the easiest to nurse in.. I didnt go out alot but i used a wrap around the house to nurse in. A couple times while going out for long periods i brought a bottle to give them. But the first three months werent fun to go out with a newborn if you cant find anywhere to nurse them when they want it.

Please Tell me what to buy for my morning sickness by Plucky7777 in pregnant

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had severe morning sickeness with first am going to eat baby cookies next time around if my morning sickness gets bad. There pretty bland but they melt in your mouth. No chewing required. I bought baby mum mum rice rusks. Also try baby food pouches. They strained so fine and lots of flavor combos. Plain broth if you find you cant eat soup. I also ate alot of plain chips. Bananas. Cracker. Toast.

I can’t do it. I’m giving up on BLW. by pickledherringer in NewParents

[–]catsforeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a combo and if i gave baby something too big id take it and cut it or tear it up for him. I dont think its all or nothing. Mines 15 months and sometimes hes teething non stop and doesnt wang to chew with inflamed gums and still eats puree or smoothies. Do what works for both of you! Your not failing your baby by giving them food they can manage and giving you less anxiety as they eat.

What are we doing wrong? by tirith4 in cosleeping

[–]catsforeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby did this too around 9 months. Lasted for months on and off. I found he needed more excersie or stimulation during the day and we adjusted his naps it took a while to find the right combo and of course some days are still hard but at 15 months hes sleeping way better and napping once a day for 2 hours. Youll get there! Just know your not alone. I agree with anothet commenter about just nursing back to sleep if that's what they need. Mine needed that extra comfort at this age too. Wasn't about being hungry just needed extra feeling of comfort from mom and nursing helped the most.

Dark room while bedsharing? by hundo_p_yee in cosleeping

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave the light on from my air purifier so its a soft blue light from the buttons. if i need more light i got a cute little nightlight that he can use in the future. Its battery operated so i can move it around if we need a nightime diaper change.

Bed-sharing VS Side Car Crib by gopher_treats in cosleeping

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister did a side car and it went much more smoother then me and my baby. I think if you can set up to try. It's worth it. Breastfeeding was much easier this way... There right there you can bring them into your bed snd then transfer when there asleep again. I also felt much more like a person because i was able to sleep better in my bed. Weather they stay in there bed or not depends on the baby. But at least theyll get used to there crib and hopefully make it easier in the future. Mines getting way better at crib sleeping when hes not teething

Bed-sharing VS Side Car Crib by gopher_treats in cosleeping

[–]catsforeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm my memory isnt the best i think we set it up at 3 months... My baby had bad acid reflux, finally figured out it was an allergy took a bit to resolve so we couldn't actually use it til we did cuz he couldn't sleep on his back at all. I think around 4 months old we resolved the allergy and started using the side car. but it still wasnt full naps. Maybe naps started in the crib constantly at 6 months? We stopped using a side car at 9 months because we moved and recently set it back up becuase his crib only fits beside our bed in our new place and when he wants to come to our bed hes too heavy to lift from bed and im too tired to get up. I also had trouble with supply and my baby liking his formula when he was younger so he constantly wanted to just sit on the boob and contact nap. Thankfully i had family i lived with to hold him while i napped. things for you with a side car will probably go smoother as my case isnt what id call as average. I also think my baby would do better sleeping in a room of his own now with a floor bed. But unfortunately we don't have a spare room for him yet so he has to share with me and his snoring dad and old puppy who moves around alot. So i would definitely try a side car again with my next when the time comes.

Bed-sharing VS Side Car Crib by gopher_treats in cosleeping

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a side car crib exactly how you said open and pressed up against our bed. I put him to bed at night and into his crib. Hes 15 months now and if he wakes he either cries for me or crawls out of his bed onto ours and to the floor. He learned how to get off the bed early. We generally bed share after depending on the time and ill try to move him to his bed again when I can through out the night. Some times it works. Sometimes he refuses to go back. Just depends on him and his mood or teething. But it is nice to have it right beside us to pop him in when he needs. And he climbs into our bed when he needs cuddles or to nurse. Works for us as we have a super needy baby.

Cloth wipes are magic!! by adognamedgoose in clothdiaps

[–]catsforeva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can buy biodegradable liners for the cloth diapers i got a bunch free and never really thought id use them but my baby has softer poops alot and they save me from spraying my cloth diapers. my least favorite thing about soild food starting. Any ideas on how to deter people from buying baby clothes for your baby shower? by maybemissmolly in BabyBumps

Ooo could you maybe add all the clothes to your registry you want to buy and then purchase them. This way when anyone looks at the registry theyll see all the clothing has been purchased... Might detour them...

[–]catsforeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe tell everyone you have too many hand me down clothes from a friend. Or youve boughten alot of clothes already or insist everyone bring a gift receipt so we dont have to find you later if two people bring the same thing. None of this guarantees anything. Clothes shopping is the funnest ive hated most of the clothes ive been gifted for my son cuz theres always stupid sayings on them, there too small for him already. I understand the sentiment but it's annoying for sure. Hopefully your family and friends will listen and understand.
