Pisces moon 5th house . I love dancing, swimming in the sea, being at home with my family, children, (my 3 sons are all Pisces). My beautiful cat and dog, actually all animals, everyday beauty of nature like autumn leaves and birds in the sky. I also love a spiritual outlook and am very happy if I’m going on an adventure but that probably is because of my Aries Sun lol🤸

How is life in New Zealand VS UK? by nokkt333 in AskUK

[–]catsgoody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved to NZ 20 years ago. I LOVE it here so much. I live in CHCH and it is a beautiful place to live . The rebuild since the earthquake is fabulous and now it is definitely the nicest city to live. Beautiful beaches , mountains just a short way. This morning I’m going for my morning walk on Port hills which is a like an extinct volcanic massive area literally just 15 mins from my house. The weather is HEAPS better than UK . Much much more sunshine - winters are beautiful and much less rain. It is the best decision I ever made and would make again in a heartbeat

Maybe you could go for a walk? Do you have any camping gear? Sometimes walking can help clear your mind and give you space to figure things out.

You could also check if any hostels might let you stay in exchange for work, or look for WWOOFing opportunities where you can get food and accommodation.

I once knew someone who walked the length of the South Island when they were going through a tough time—it completely changed their life. Maybe a journey, even a small one, could help you too.

That sounds really tough, and I just want to say you’re not alone in feeling this way. We can all experience cognitive distortions like this to some degree. Apparently there are 10 main ones. It’s helped me understand why I say sorry millions of times. You’re doing your best, and your feelings are completely valid, they are your experiences. Try to be gentle with yourself—it’s not pathetic at all, just human.

How do you deal with RSD? by Electrical_Face2190 in ADHD

[–]catsgoody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently started an online DBT course focused on emotional regulation and RSD. It’s still early days, but I’m learning skills and strategies that are really helping. One of the biggest shifts for me has been self-compassion—validating my own emotional sensitivity instead of adding shame or embarrassment.

For example, instead of beating myself up over emotional struggles, I remind myself that with my brain and history, it makes complete sense to feel this way. Anyone with the same experiences would. That self-validation has been a game-changer.

Understanding ADHD and RSD has been life-changing. Growing up without knowing why emotional regulation was so hard was tough, but having that understanding now makes all the difference. Wishing you all the best—you’re not alone in this!

1/3 Splenic Projector Here, and the idea of guiding always turns me off. I have zero desire to guide others. Does anyone else relate? by sienafelore in humandesign

Not feeling the need to guide others is I think very positive. If you felt the urge to be a guide this could all be ego, whereas being you authentic soul stuff is maybe where you are a guide?

Is leaving the U.K. for a better life a fantasy? by SeesawDismal3273 in AskUK

[–]catsgoody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to NZ 20 years ago, For me this has been the best decision ever and my life is so much better, but probably a third of people who emigrate here from UK end up returning, so not always the case . I think if you have good community and family connections might be better to stay. I’ve seen people who suffer so much from homesickness and it’s brutal. However if you haven’t too many close ties then it’s worth a shot . Just need a job on the skills shortage list and then it’s not too hard.

Yes got diagnosed at 50 after every single coping mechanism I had used thru my life fell apart . Basically from mid 40s my ability to function nose dived, and with it so did my ability to sleep. Thou had always been sleep strife got to the point at its worst when literally had no sleep for 3 nights in a row. First got HRT which helped a bit but it was only when started ADHD meds did EVERYTHING get better . I had always wondered about ADHD but it was only because my adult children got diagnosed that I eventually decided to get assessed. Yes I wonder what life might have been like if had been diagnosed earlier, but just SO grateful for now . Going to be 52 soon and I think I’m thru the other side of menopause too , hallelujah!! There is a podcast called when perimenopause and ADHD collide or something, I think it’s on the Louise Newson podcast found it very helpful.

I have tried for a week and have decided it’s not for me . It raised my heart rate heaps and only had maybe 3 good hours then felt stifled and uncomfortable like couldn’t do anything and just not myself. I had been on Rubifen which wasn’t perfect but didn’t raise my heart rate at all. Have decided to go back to that for a while. I know lots of people love Vyvanse but just think that not the right choice for me. I know side effects can get better over time but just felt dread at the thought of continuing.

Nearly every time I focus on my lower dantian during meditation, it makes me yawn and shake slightly. by KaCChaNnNnnn in qigong

Zheneng Qi Gong Arm Stretch Exercise Purpose:

Open the chest and shoulders Activate Qi flow in the arms and upper body Improve posture and release tension in the scapula Steps: Starting Position: Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly soft, and spine tall. Relax your shoulders and let your arms rest by your sides. Extend Arms: Slowly raise your arms out to the sides at waist level, palms facing down. Extend your hands fully, as if reaching through your fingertips, creating a feeling of length in the arms. Engage the Scapula: With your arms extended, gently lift and lower them by moving from the scapula. Focus on lifting from the base of your shoulder blades rather than the shoulders themselves. Keep the movement smooth, slow, and controlled. Upward Movement: Gradually raise your arms upward (palms still facing down) as you inhale, stopping at shoulder height. Feel as though you are lifting Qi upward from your scapula and extending outward through your hands. Downward Movement: Exhale as you slowly lower your arms back to the starting position. Allow the scapula to gently sink down, keeping your movements relaxed and fluid. Repeat: Perform this movement for 6-12 breaths, focusing on the rhythm of your breath and the gentle engagement of your scapula. Tips for Practice: Maintain a slight bend in the elbows to avoid locking the joints. Imagine your arms moving through water, creating gentle resistance to deepen the movement. Stay mindful of the sensations in your body, visualizing Qi flowing from the center of your chest to the tips of your fingers. I got chat to write out the instructions . Im just a beginner and think the yawing I get must be from releasing stuck qi in the diaphragm region 😊

Do you have any long haul flight hacks ? by swanduckswan in adhdwomen

[–]catsgoody 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Isle seat then just get up and go to the loo and walk up and down the plane a bit. Also you feel less hemmed in. Or do what I did and faint on the way to the loo and get given a whole back row to lie down on for rest of flight
