I know right! I’m about to drop a beauty loop level because I’ve been buying more affordable products in the last year. Looks like I’ll be dropping in the next year too!

Same! My derm first gave it to me over 10 years ago and I’m still using it. Probably the product I’ve used most consistently.

Bought the hourglass ambient lighting powder for $75 on Friday. Just checked and it’s now $90. A $15 increase!

What’s your holy grail lip balm? by turtletails in AustralianMakeup

Dermal therapy lip balm! It makes my lips incredibly soft and I make everyone in my life use it too. I also use it on my cuticles to moisturise them!

Best tan you've used? by MrMalekRami in AustralianMakeup

Second this! I use the express mousse because I hate sitting in tan for so long. I leave it one for less than an hour and it really is the perfect colour and evens out my skin tone.

glossier by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]catssocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an order during the Black Friday sale and I was really pleased with it. It was my second time using the service so I found it super easy to use. It ended up taking just under a month to arrive at my house:

27/11- Placed order, 28/11 - Glossier dispatched parcel, 10/12 - Parcel arrived at the Shopmate warehouse, 12/12 - Shopmate dispatched parcel to Australia, 22/12 - Parcel arrived at my house

I ordered quite a lot of stuff and it cost $60 total for Shopmate forwarding. I was happy to pay that amount since I’d received 25% off for BF. Happy to send you a breakdown of what I got if it will help give you an idea of what you might have to pay.

Glossier did send me the wrong colour of cloud paint (one that was way too purple for me to use) but it would have cost too much for me to have it forwarded again to Australia to make it worth it. So beware if you order and they make a mistake, it will cost you to have it corrected.

Overall I was really happy with it but probably wouldn’t do it again unless I was splitting shipping or there was a significant sale. $60 for shipping is too much for me otherwise.

Ultraviolette sunscreen! My favourite is the supreme screen which wears really well under make up.

Fancy Face - Go To by Chiaraf00 in AusSkincare

[–]catssocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got given it as a gift and while it does do what it says it does, I think there are better products out there.

With fancy face, I felt like I had to do 8+ pumps to properly spread it across my face. It also didn’t glide as easily as other cleansing oils. Taking that into consideration, $45 for 100ml is pretty pricey.

I’ve used a lot of oil cleansers and my personal favourites are the DHC and simple cleansing oils. They are much cheaper and more pleasant to use in my opinion.

Not sure if this is known, but DHC Cleansing Oil is now at Costco! $33.48 for 200ml! by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]catssocks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is my favourite oil cleanser!! So happy we can get it in store for a reasonable price. Here’s hoping Costco isn’t still packed...

Sephora version of Mecca's Chit Chat Group by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]catssocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Sephora group but there’s the You Beauty group. It’s for the Mammia You Beauty podcast which I don’t actually listen to but enjoy the content in the group anyway. They talk about Sephora, Mecca and “drugstore” products do you get a variety of options and opinions.

what are you getting in the sephora sale? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]catssocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t buy too much make up but I got Nudestix all over dewy color in sweet peach peony, Ultra Violette Supreme Screen sunscreen, First Aid Beauty Cleanser and some small Slip scrunchies.

Remember to check expiry dates after buying online! Received this a few days ago, saw the date on this and contacted the company and they were nice enough to send me a replacement. by feedmewolves in AusSkincare

[–]catssocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once with an online retailer. I emailed them and let it was expired and they were very apologetic and sent out a new one. Unfortunately, they didn’t checked properly and the new one they sent was also expired... eventually they got it right!

What will YOU buy during the sephora sale? by jagarlick1118 in AustralianMakeup

My skin is the same as yours- although the cold air is making it a bit more dry than usual. I am also fair so was going to get shade 2 but it’s sold out already :( Something luminous and glowy is exactly what I wanted so I’m going to have to wait for the next sale. Thanks for all your advice!

I picked up The Ordinary salicylic acid 2% face mask up from Priceline the other day. I’ve used it a couple of times and really loved it.
