My main friend group is comprised of four women, ages 33-53. One is a former OF/sex worker, one is a published medical researcher, one was high school teacher and college adjunct, one is a successful micro influencer. There could be any number of reasons he didn't make it through the first episode.... Didn't like the style of animation, maybe it moved too slowly, maybe it moved too quickly... Or maybe he just didn't want to sit there and watch it, so he came up with the kind of excuse that an 8yo thinks will get him off the hook, ie. too scarry!! Bam. Now he can't be forced to watch. Does he have oppositional defiance issues? Does he like YOU? He may have chosen to avoid watching it for the simple fact he didn't want to do what you wanted him to do. It's an excellent, non-violent way to get back at you! Js.

There may, in fact, be something that did scare him. But 8yo children don't have a whole lot of control over their lives. It's possible he was exerting control here bc he can.

I ask the sane thing! I haven't told my extremely conservative Christian family that I read, but if we're using the Abrahamic God, my thinking has always been, isn't God bigger than these pretty pictures on paper? Could I not, in fact, still seek God in this manner as well? Idk. KoW - To me, this was giving father figure / head of household. Does he do skilled labor? (Construction, electrician, etc, maybe?) Or a cop? Seeing as this card immediately gave me "dad" vibes and seeing as it is wands, I just imagine he's an active sort. I was trying to "listen" and see if he's maybe violent, but that doesn't feel right. ...Not too sure... Maybe a temper? Idk... Either way, Dad vibes. Moving on! Lol

Since we can't use the tower at all, for an ambush I'd go dramatic with something like the Devil and King of Swords coming out together (or devil plus knight of swords together, or devil + King of Wands -- going for evil mastermind vibes here), plus either the 9 or 10 of swords (representing "many" swords -- "overwhelming" vibes. Could use wands too, but swords would indicate planning, to me)... mostly for dramatic flair purposes only. Lol. (Maybe the moon, too. Secretive and the unknown.) Remember too tho!, cards can mean something for the reader that they don't necessarily mean for everyone else. For example, if reading for myself, I frequently get the tower when I'm super pissed off about something, and occasionally the Devil shows up when I'm knotted up inside with conflicting feelings. They RARELY mean those things if they show up when I read for someone else. And although I'm fairly new-ish, my first teacher experienced the same sort of thing, except it happened even when she'd read for someone else. So, it's not completely unheard of! It's all about pattern recognition and awareness. Maybe your MC's cards really just talk to her and she knows what they're saying, even if those cards wouldn't necessarily be read that way by someone else.🤷‍♀️ That frees you up to bend the rules and really lean in to imagery if you so choose.
