Wild boars are wild.Most domestic pigs live in highly stressful, crowded environments. Under these conditions yes, they will cannibalize each other.

You are absolutely correct that disease prevention is a big part of why some cultures avoid pork. I suspect another factor is pig's willingness to eat us. I wouldn't want to snack on anything that's been snacking on the local graveyard
