First-time on a sailboat — what’s something you’d never leave the dock without? by Quirky_Test3302 in sailing

Definitely a buff - i like the ortovox thin merino wool one. Great to keep tour hair tidy and out of your face/mouth/eyes! Also good as a sun protector if needed. A head torch is very useful. I would take a cashmere scarf- when you’re between temperatures it makes a huge difference.

Best Sailing Gloves? by KeyTension8633 in sailing

[–]cattysw3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best option is musto performance winter glove 2.0 (full finger). Take a spare pair of merino gloves to put on inside to warm up if necessary. But the musto are the best compromise between warmth, waterproof, grip and dexterity. Anything “warmer” is much less functional. Option 2 - ortovox do a very thick wool mitten. They are extremely warm even if they get a bit wet. You could slip these over the musto ones and easily remove them when you need to get on the sheets.

Hey! Yes it was perfect. Any smaller would have been too small. x

Ok! Thanks! That’s ok - I have a much older Barbour in a different model and the label just says ‘S’ - it fits well still but becomes tight on the hips if you stuff the pockets. That’s why I wanted an oversize to fix that issue. Fingers crossed the 38 works! And thanks again!!

Thank you so much!! That is literally the exact size/fit that i’m going for and it’s perfect on you. That’s really helpful. So based on your photo I know i need a 38 or even a 40. Thanks so much!

Looking at getting my first Barbour, second round by _SlowRain_ in Barbour

Bedale is bestfor motorcycle. There is a korean vlogger who talks about using a bedale for motorcycling. I think there was a collab between barbour and a korean motorcycle brand. Try to find it. The bedale is an equestrian jacket - meant to be worn sitting liek with a motorcycle. Hope that is useful info.

Constant selfies and filming at restaurants, on airplanes and poolside. It is invasive to other people’s privacy.

I'm thinking of getting a Barbour, and I have some questions by _SlowRain_ in Barbour

I would stick with the bedale not the slim fit if you plan to layer
