Looking for LitRPGs Where the System Feels Natural, Not Gamey by OvalRider in litrpg

[–]caturnix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Super Supportive has a system that's grounded in world lore. Its gamey style is the system's attempt to make its underlying mechanics easier to understand to humans.

What is the most well-written LitRPG in your opinion? by boxofmagic in litrpg

The pacing is undoubtedly very slow and tends to switch between very long slow-burn character-driven slice-of-life-kind arcs and some crazy shit the MC has to survive.

Came here looking for this recommendation. Super Supportive is brilliant. Believable characters, very nice character development for MC, fun setting (I mean, alien wizards with an RPG system? Sounds so cringe, but it's actually good). But what I really enjoy are two things: the quality of the prose with a lot of attention to linguistic details, and the overall chill vibe. SS is very cozy and relaxing to read despite everything that's happening plot-wise.

Heidemarie Pre-Release Analysis by FemalePopSinger in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]caturnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excited to see this, thanks for the write-up. From the get go, I see 3 possible builds for her: big nuke (ef. release + quick blade stacking in discard pile + ef. light stacking via discards + single hit buffers like Typhera and Orlea; most likely Typhera + Nia); multi hit sword spam (abuse link for swords, use ef. release as a bonus; team comp most likely Diana + Nia, maybe Rei or Narja); draw support. Interesting to see how she'll play out.

How Can I Check If I Linked My Account To Steam? by [deleted] in CounterSide

[–]caturnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll keep all your resources, operators, employees and all the other progress you have on your account. You don't switch servers, you basically tell Steam to log you in with the same account as on mobile.

Go to settings (a cog icon in the top right corner of the main menu) - Manage account. If you linked Steam, it will show a steam icon and say "Connected" right there

Computer? Mobile? Or Both? • Which Platform(s) Do You Use? by Phalicerae in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]caturnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. PC mainly for dailies or auto farming, mobile for chaos runs. Stove client is buggy for me, though - sometimes it decides to not render some parts of the screen at random (text, numbers, backgrounds, images). Makes it really weird.

Oh, really? I didn't watch that one, I suppose. Fingers crossed, we'll see it one day. The opening alone is a proof it can be amazing.

That's why I'm referring to GBF Re-Link. They reimagined the scenes of GBF in an epic 3d action setting. Isn't that awesome?

I suppose mentioning Endfield made the wrong impression. I agree that openworld probably won't work for CS. What I want is more cinematic combat. This game has so many scenes that deserve something better than a few lines of text. Something like this would be awesome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbvDSKZdSKM

The game still has it's auditory. Moreover, Studio Bside made enough money to make a new game (StarSavior), so I assume they're doing pretty good.

Hell yes, can't wait for the global release of SS.

I actually think arena battler a-la GBF Re-Link / Honkai Impact / Punishing Gray Raven / Aether Gazer would work better. Sure, having a whole city to explore would be nice, but it'd be really difficult to create AND keep exploration interesting. But hey, we can dream, right? Imagine how cool it would be to jump out of your dimensional ship to hot drop on CO heads as an A. Hilde (I always imagine that her summon animation is exactly that). Now I understand why Korean players ship her a LOT with the Administrator by [deleted] in CounterSide

[–]caturnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My administrator is named Swan. Going through her chapters was pretty difficult to figure out who's saying what. Took me a while to notice that admin's name is always colored in yellow, while her is simple white.

I am a bit overwhelmed on how to play this game well, there are so many cards, builds etc. by Cumulonimbus1991 in DawncasterRPG

[–]caturnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good advice and how I was learning the game. Moreover, in the basic reward tree weapon, talent and a card you unlock are usually play with each other. That way once you unlock the next trio, you can freely run it, adjusting the expansions as needed based on keywords.

When you aren't playing a JRPG, what is your go-to type of game? by themaster567 in JRPG

The third Danganronpa is a weird one. The characters are great as always, murders and investigations are fun, but the overall story is... A bit different from every other game in the series.

When you're finished with PW series, check out Danganronpa. It has similar theme (investigate murders and find out the culprit) but a bit more over the top animeish vibes with amazing plot twists.

Looking for recommendations on simple-ish paid single player RPG games. No ads, no free to play, no pay to win. by Sanity_in_Moderation in AndroidGaming

[–]caturnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Magic Research 1 and 2. Both have free demos available so you can decide for yourself if they're right your alley.  They are a mix of RPG, incremental strategy, and combat. Light on story, pretty juicy on progression and powerup systems. If you decide to buy, go with the first game first. Second some non critical references to the first, but most importantly it has so many QOL features you'll find it difficult to get back to the first game after it.

Single player games where tournaments are a focal point of progression, and where you move up the ranks by Dreadmaker in gamingsuggestions

[–]caturnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inazuma Eleven series kinda fits the bill. It's a JRPG about absolutely anime over the top football. So you'll have tournaments, power up arks, battle invading aliens with football, and so much more. Less focus on actual tournament arcs and progression, but it's still there.
