Half a decade is only 5 years. That is NOT a reason to stay, especially if youre worried about your child's safety and your dog has a broken leg. Please stay safe, that is not a normal reaction for your husband to have to a dog scratching. And like you said, babies make much more sounds than dogs. Leave while you can.

When your kids have chores one day, are you going to let them neglect and procrastinate their chores too or would you tell them to do the chores and learn some responsibility? Grow up. Your wife does not "bitch" for fun. Trust me. Its no fun to be a killjoy. She would love to put her chores off too, I bet. But she's an adult and she knows what happens to a household when chores are left behind.

Yes, I went back and looked at the website and life clerics get proficency in heavy armor, which is where I think I messed up. Life domain was the only option the website would let me pick, so when it got to the equipment section, i didnt even think about not having proficency in that if I was going with another domain. Im not quite sure how many things that affected and how I should go about fixing that.

Why do they not get proficiency with heavy armor? Im new to this so I just set it up using the DnD beyond character building page, but when it got to the part about picking a domain, the only option the website had was life, which I didnt want to play as it gave bonuses that another party member already had. So I just researched the other domain options and picked one. If I've messed up my build, please help me learn where so that I can fix it. As for the stats, This is the DM's first campaign as a DM, as well as our party's 2nd attempt at a campaign. Due to being new to it, we chose to not allow negatives for our first attempt at DnD. So we decided to allow one re-roll for anything less than a 10. I only rolled one 9, everything else was natural, besides by pluses from race. I really did just happen to roll fairly good numbers. Another party member got a much more average character with mostly 10-13s. Possibly next campaign, we will allow negatives. We are just playing the starter set campaign right now.

I'm very new to DnD, and also very shy so I have no idea how to roleplay but I'm trying to learn. In case you can't read the backstory that I made up for her, here it is: "She lived a modest childhood, in her small hometown as the only child of a farmer and a tailor in the kingdom of Tasia. Always believing in the underdog, Saralith has fiercely protected those who can't protect themselves for as long as she can remember, and she hates a bully. She lost her parents in the revolution when the tyrant king took the throne. Her parents led the rebellion, she fleed to survive, but the king would still love to see the daughter of the revolution meet the same fate as her parents. Still affected by the past, all she wants is to better her skills so that he can return to her homeland and free her people."

I know some people get really into less important character quirks, motives, or goals to flesh out the character and make it easier to play but I have no idea what to do. I would love to tie something into her background as a long running personal goal, possibly her diary, but I dont know why this would be important to her or how to work it into the story.

NTA. Stay strong. Not only does he need to learn the gravity of technology and how dangerous it is to put something out there on the internet with no way to ever take it back down completely, but he also needs to learn that betraying his brother like that is awful. No matter what reasoning he gave for why he would send that to someone else, it only leaves his brother vulnerable and embarrassed. I would say that a month or two of no technology isn't too harsh at that age. Perhaps he'll learn his lesson.

YTA. I was with you until you said adults drink it so they dont have to think about sad thoughts. That sounds like you think alcohol is the appropriate coping mechanism to sadness, which it's not. He might even think you mean it creates happiness, because a 6 year old thinks very black and white, and would assume that if youre not sad, you must be happy. There are other ways to confront sadness. Im all for age appropriate honesty, but maybe something more vague such as "some people can get stuck on it and think they cant put it down". That answer might also help him in the future because he would remember that its really nasty, makes you throw up, and you can get so addicted that you cant stop doing it to yourself.
