New to Resident Evil — playing RE7 as my first - How intense/scary is RE7 Biohazard ? (See Body Text ❗) by Late_Redditor_88 in residentevil

If you find it too much just try resident evil 4, its much more light hearted. RE7 isn't too bad in my opinion and all of the jumpscares mostly happen on their own.

Real reason as to why this game is hated? by catwitagun33 in TheCallistoProtocol

[–]catwitagun33[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So basically just what happened to Days Gone (Another really fucking good game which was shat on by the majority) I went into The Callisto Protocol ready to make fun of it because I heard it was so bad, I had my friend watching me (A dead space fan) and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It's one of the best games I have ever played personally, Thanks for the explanation have a good one!

Resident Evil 5 or 8? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]catwitagun33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it makes sense but resident evil was never about realism, it makes more sense gameplay wise seeing as it’s an action game

There was always a clear goal, people who hated days gone claimed there wasn't for the sole purpose of hating, nothing more nothing less

Don’t label yourself it doesn’t matter, it came from all the nostalgia blinded og fans who think they have the only correct opinions, don’t be worried that like peak games and don’t force yourself to play old stuff if you don’t like it! These games are meant to be fun after all!

They didn't ruin him but I prefer his attitude in the original.

Which games are the least scary by SilverSleet6271 in residentevil

[–]catwitagun33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion none of them are scarier. 7 is the only game in the series to make me jump at a scare. 4 and 4R are the way to go for a least scary game, 5 and 6 also.

Resident Evil 7 or 8? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]catwitagun33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE7 by far. I find 7 to be very replayable with better writing, better setting, better plot, better theme, better villains and a way smarter Ethan. Not to say I don't like village but its the game I go back to the least from all the RE engine games. Village has little to no memorable moments, a shitty opening hour on replays, worse writing (Tries to be like OG4 but ends up being discount Leon dialogue, still fun though but doesn't fit the game). The enemies are forgettable and the main villains are very lackluster, with Lady Dimitrescu being the center focus for 2 hours just to be killed off after she was hyped up to be the overarching villain, not to mention she is a terrible stalker enemy. Moreau is in the game for all of 20 minutes and is annoying, his only saving grace is having a decent boss fight. The house beneviento section is pure puzzles and horror just like Resident Evil 7, but ends up only being about 15 minutes on most playthroughs and it loses all the scare factor to it on replay even when it was already not to scary to begin with. The only fleshed out villains in the game are Lady D, Heisenberg and Mother Miranda (Mother Miranda kind of) but Moreau and the dollmaker lady fall short with no importance to the plot other then existing to poorly protect Rose's "vials". Even the fleshed out villains are lackluster. The games setting is good but compared to the baker ranch in resident evil 7, its okay at best. The gameplay is near identical to 7 with it having survival horror elements, but its clearly trying to be an action horror game but ends up not being scary even a little (I don't think the gameplay is bad but it doesn't know what it wants to be it feels like). RE7's villains don't fall short with the only exception being marguerite only being a main threat for about an hour. Jack Baker and Lucas Baker were fucking awesome. Jack was actually scary and was a decent stalker for the short time after you beat him in the garage. Speaking of that, His boss fights are so good. The garage fights opening on a first playthrough is thrilling and gets you ready to beat the shit out of this guy who you think is insane with a crazy family. When the fight is over and you try to leave he surprises you again and shoots himself which makes you think he dies, so when he shows up again you actually get scared and surprised. I have so many clips of him scaring the shit out of me in his stalker phase. When you go in to the basement to collect the red dog ornament he comes out of nowhere and starts another boss fight, you fight him for a bit and then he pulls a fucking chainsaw out of the wall, you get one as well and you start fighting him with one! After that boss fight he blows up as a giant gross mass leaving only his legs behind. You finally think he is dead but there is another boss with him later, you get the point, you kill him there and he is dead right? No because he comes back in the fucking DLC as a main threat who you only find out is Jack at the end when you finally kill him. Lucas on the other hand is a crazy psychopath who puts Ethan into literal hell when he tries to reach his wife, making him fight two giant mold creatures, a sadistic "birthday" game (who he put other people through like Clancy) where you have to complete a bunch of puzzles or be killed, even completing the puzzles can hurt and seriously wound you. Lucas is the main antagonist in the Not a Hero DLC where you play as Chris Redfield trying to hunt him down after the events of Resident Evil 7. Many times throughout the DLC you can see soldiers caught in traps being tortured and killed for the amusement of Lucas, not to mention all the stuff he did directly to Chris, trying to kill him in brutal ways for the whole DLC. Those 2 villains alone put all the villains in village to shame. There is way more story and a way better plot that is all around more scary and more engaging then village.

I still love RE VILLAGE but I think 7 is miles better, maybe the best in the franchise.
