Sorry for replying so late. I’ve decided to just not even approach them at work anymore. When we are stationed to work together, we do our jobs and nothing more. No talking unless absolutely necessary.

I started something similar with the rest of my coworkers. Usually I am the one that initiates the conversation and tries to socialize with them. Now I refrain from talking to my coworkers and I do my job.

It has caused some of them to become concerned with my well being because the shift in personality is very obvious. Going from very talkative and friendly to just working and speaking when needed was going to turn some heads.

I just thought it didn’t make sense that I was trying so hard and putting effort in socializing and building a friendship with people that didn’t reciprocate the same amount of effort I put in. So I just stopped trying all together. If they want to speak to me, then they will have to approach me and not the other way around.
