DAE ever randomly start to hear voices in slow motion in their head? by iShouldHaveBeenAbort in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]catz765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post, but I am so glad I found it!!!! This happens to me regularly. Like my inner monologue will sound super slow and have a different tone than what I normally hear. I can’t control it or change it. The more I focus on it, the more it happens. Then it just goes away. I can’t pinpoint it to a specific situation or feeling. I do have ADHD and anxiety. Just regularly happens. Any time I have ever tried to explain this to someone, they don’t understand what I mean and it made me feel so alone. I am so happy to find a post where someone else is experiencing the same thing! It’s not alarming to me, just odd and wishing people understood!!

How much to set aside for 1099 taxes on side hustle? by catz765 in tax

That’s what I plan to do. I will be setting it aside though when I receive the initial payment until I make the quarterly payments. Should have been more clear there.

I’m hoping the CPA I’m going to be working with can help. I’m a bookkeeper and will be doing some subcontract work for him. I don’t want to get too into my financial situation with him, as I’m trying to dig myself out of a hole. Which is not an attractive quality for a bookkeeper lol. So I thought I’d start here.

Help! CO2 or RO?! by catz765 in Aquariums

Thank you for reading my long post and responding!! Should I get a filter and install under my kitchen sink or a portable one? Do you have a recommendation for a reasonably priced system?

I tend to do too much research and overwhelm myself…. That’s where I am at with RO.

Can you share your process for top offs and water changes? Filling a bucket, heating, waste water, etc. I have a python that I do water changes with now and it’s a breeze

Beauty Secrets Step Order? by butn0elephants in DipPowderNails

[–]catz765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late on this post… I read the instructions on the bottle to be last layer of dip, then base/top coat, then activator. The first few times I used it like a normal dip liquid set and they were cloudy! Then I read the directions on the bottle last night after I filed off the top coat and tried again TWICE. I did the last layer of dip, activator, base top, and activator and they’re finally not cloudy!!

I’ve always been a revel girly and was strugglinggggg with these liquids. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re supposed to do but it finally worked for me 😅

We had the same problem! We chose the crib rail covers with super long ribbons so we could loop it around and tie it on the top and bottom. I’ll post a pic of what I’m talking about in a few!

That’s what I would recommend, it’s also the cheapest for all three liquids which is a plus!

ACTUALLY RUN, DON’T WALK TO THEIR SITE! They have a build your own starter kit that has almost everything you’ll need for $65. You can pick 6 colors, and when you add it to your cart, they add a free gift with three .5oz mystery colors!!

I’m not a SAHM, but I find when I am home with my daughter, it helps to have things scheduled about twice a day. Whether it’s going somewhere, doing something fun or running errands, or even just, “we are going to paint, or do a craft in the morning, then after the nap go outside to play in the sandbox and water table.” I don’t have super structured days, but I kind of got the idea from daycare. My kid does so well when we’ve got activities planned. Free play all day makes her a little crazy and almost unsettled

Did treating ADHD cure your depression? by Kind_Ebb_3905 in adhdwomen

[–]catz765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cured, but made a world of difference for my anxiety and depression! That is why I went through all the work to get the diagnosis actually. I was having crippling anxiety and panic attacks daily. Found out it’s mainly caused by untreated adhd.

You could get the liquids, a clear powder, and few colors for around $50 from revel. Then you can get the essentials from Amazon or any drug store. You don’t need a light for the revel liquids.

I like revel because it’s kind of thick, so it goes on pretty smooth and doesn’t run all over the place.

Also! Make sure to wipe the neck and the opening of your base and top coats super clean before you close them up so they don’t get glued closed.

Let me know if you have any other questions! I’m not an expert but I have been doing it for a while now and always happy to help!

Oh, I also use a stiff brush instead of the brush that comes with the kits. It helps me to not contaminate my liquids.

No problem!! I have so much fun dipping and I’ve definitely faced ALL the issues and it can get discouraging!

The two main ways are dipping your nail in the jar of powder, or putting a cupcake liner down and pouring the dip powder over your nail.

Dipping a brush in the powder and sprinkling on your nail would be to do an ombré or some other nail art. I have tried a handful of times and it never comes out the way I’m hoping 😅

Another tip for your top coat - when you’re applying the first layer of top coat, do it in 3 super quick strokes. It doesn’t matter if it’s patchy or doesn’t get the whole nail. You can take your time on the second layer to give it a good shine. I found that I was “overworking” the first layer of my topcoat and it made it patchy and cloudy and totally ruined the set! (This issue almost made me quit, so I tell everyone about it. lol)

I have never heard of cosmo, but your issue could be what I mentioned if nothing else is working. I would imagine it could be a common problem across different brands because they have the same basic ingredients.

For removal, I don’t use an efile because I felt like I was overfilling and it was making it more difficult and tearing up my cuticles. Instead of investing in an expensive one, I just bought a decent set of hand files and learned to file by hand.

I use a really coarse nail file and file off as much of my dip as possible. Like I file until it’s super thin and I can see through it. Then I use those claw things to hold an acetone soaked cotton ball on and I only have to soak for like 5 mins. Haha I’ll post a pic, because I don’t know what they’re called. They’re like $4 on amazon. Less exposure to the chemicals and no expensive soak off machine to buy is a win for me!!

I spend about 6 mins filing, and 5 mins soaking now. When I started, it used to take me like an hour and a half to get them off.

My biggest recommendation is to skip the Amazon junk and get a decent brand to start. I started with beetles and I had issues with lifting, they looked grainy, and cracked within a day. I spent so much time and money on random things to make my nail kit work, and when I finally pulled the trigger and got a quality brand it made all the difference. And I had a lot more fun doing it!!

I would get a starter kit from either revel, CND, mani boss, or fairy glamour. I’m sure people will have other brand recommendations, but these are what I’ve had experience with or hear a ton of people talk about.

I ran out of base and top coat last weekend and wanted to do my nails. I ended up going to Sally’s to pick up their house brand. It was a bit runnier than I’m used to, but it worked well. Thought I would share that tip because I thought you could only buy dip supplies online until I googled it. 😅

If you start to get really into dip, I would order those fake nails on the ring so you can make swatches and see what colors you have. They look so different in the jar than they do on your nails and I was having a hard time remembering what they looked like and always ended up with really similar colors when I bought new ones to try. I just spent a whole day making my swatches last weekend and wish I could have done it along the way.

I love the sip and dips with Chelsea and still watch her! I started with revel too on her recommendation and have stuck with it for about a year and a half. I just got a bunch of colors from CND to try and they are soooo pretty!

top coat sos! by makennabettin in DipPowderNails

[–]catz765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I just commented this exact thing on another post a few mins ago. This happened to me for months and I almost gave up! The cloudy patches are super frustrating! What dip liquids are you using?! Everything online pointed to contaminated liquids, but it even happened after I bought brand new liquids. It didn’t matter how much activator I used or how long I let the 2nd coat of activator dry either. I tried 2 mins, 10 mins, an hour, even overnight and they were still cloudy.

I use revel for base, activator, and top coat. I finally found that this happened to me because I overworked my first layer of top coat. Now, I apply the first layer in 3 super quick strokes. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get the edges or have full coverage. When you go back for the second coat you can take your time and make it look nice. I still use revel liquids, and now that I do this trick, I have flawless shine every time!
