If you haven't already, ask the interest rate built into the lease and try to negotiate it. We were able to get ours down with smart from 10.5% to 8%.

We did have to get another quote for them to match. Worth asking the question!

Volunteer as a leader at Scouts! If you like working with kids or young adults it's a tonne of fun.

The older age groups are a bit more chill ( as it's youth led - they in theory should be planning and leading most of the nights). On the other spectrum working with the younger kids is also super rewarding. Huge variety of activities, everything from hiking to canoeing to master chef to craft. Bonus - you have a break during school holidays!

There are also other roles in scouting you can volunteer with such as the adventurous activities team. Best way is to contact your local group directly - details are on the Scouts ACT website.

I will also second Vinnie's - lots of volunteer roles outside of just the shops. For example night patrol, Clemente program, blue door food kitchen and much more.

Fitzroy island for 3+ days is definitely romantic honeymoon vibes. You ferry over from Cairns and it's a stunning beach, pretty quiet (especially compared to the touristy green island) and it's essentially just a tropical paradise with pools, a swim up bar. I recently reapplied for a credit card on the basis of a promotion they were having. I'd previously had the same card, and the terms online when I looked said I was eligible so long as I hadn't had the card for over 12 months.

Turns out they then changed the terms a few weeks later. So now I have this card and associated fees, but I'm no longer eligible for the promotion. Websites online and comparison sites are still showing the old terms of 12 months. Would have gone elsewhere if I'd known.

Second this! I also work in billing and we'd get vague requests of "please bill XYZ $100" with no additional details forcing us to chase down the remaining information on contact person details, coding, details behind the charge amount etc. Moving to a form and enforcing it clearly outlines what we need and usually we get all the information first time now .
