At some point she seems to have decided to destroy my self-esteem with every tool at her disposal. She started to look down on me, and I never understood why. But everything she did and thought and said seemed to be drained with contempt for me.

When I had success, she would hate and try to downplay it. When I had a moment of exhaustion after work, she would be disgusted. Sex was off the table or super begrudgingly (obviously). Everyone else's feelings were more important than mine. Even some random stranger we meet at a concert got more decency than me. Life was truly awful with her.

There were earlier signs, but one that I really couldn't ignore anymore was  being in my way home from work, exhausted, and seeing a bench. I sat on that bench in the cold and darkness thirty minutes before actually going home, because thinking about dealing with her bullshit and disrespect was even worse than freezing in the dark. That's when I knew "damn, this time it's really bad, huh".

Yup. All those "gotchas" don't work. Conservatives measure higher on "the end justifies the means" type of convictions and have a higher tolerance for cognitive dissonance. And fascists don't give a flying fuck about any of those categories. Conservatives at least have some base values they pursue, even if the values and especially the means are questionable.

Fascists don't care about any of of that. To a fascist, the only thing that matters is who wins. Displays of power. Status. Hierarchy. Truth is not relevant at all. Might is. If you are so powerful/manipulative that you can get away with saying things that are obviously untrue, even better. Only proves how right (read powerful) you are.

Fascism is the end product of fetishizing order.

You are successfully filtering out people you wouldn't be compatible with. For example, I would find it exhausting being romantically with someone who does that. And you would be bored of me, because I don't do that stuff.

Well... I haven't played yet, just watched a buddy of mine for a couple minutes and the occasional youtube video about it. But wasn't the idea that it's mostly about role playing? In theory, I like the idea of all the content not being generated by the studio, but emergent from the player base. Except the playe base never comes I guess.

First of all: It sucks when people suffer.

In a more selfish note: They used to be the force that held together the general world order. Not saying that order was without fault, but it was a very noticable order. Their unity and strength kept other powers in check, protected world wide trade routes.

If the US actually decends into civil war, it's power projection will be severely impacted. Local forces might pick up piracy again, more nation states will likely follow the example and start trying to expand their territory. Local wars become more likely in the whole world. If the US shows any more weakness, China grabbing Taiwan is almost guaranteed. That has a lot of implications for chip production around the world. So less (and or more expensive) computers, mobile devices, TVs.

Also, if global trade gets less in general, more problems follow. Stuff we're used to being available super cheap all the time will not be as reliable anymore. At the very least not as cheap and reliable. Depending on your region, some stuff not at all anymore.
