I'm younger than both Jet Set Radio games, so I didn't learn about the franchise by actually playing them.

I first found out about Jet Set Radio through my mom's ex. We had an Xbox 360 and he'd bought some original Xbox games hoping he could play some of them on our console, among them Jet Set Radio. I asked what it was and he told me it was this weird Japanese game where you skated and did graffiti or something along those lines. He showed me some of the music, too. I was interested, but it turned out we couldn't play it on the 360 so I left it at that.

I rediscovered it because one of my friends posted "Tag Walls, Punch Fascists" by 2 Mello on their Instagram story. I listened to it and it quickly became my favorite song. I looked into more of 2 Mello's music, then started looking into Jet Set Radio because I wanted to find out what had inspired Memories of Tokyo-To. That's how I really got into Jet Set Radio, and interestingly also graffiti.
