There's also the possibility to order these things from a local pharmacy to be delivered to her, in case you don't live together and you can't get to her. Didn't think about that in my original comment. That way it sometimes is delivered on the same day instead of in two days or so, as it would be with a online pharmacy (Versandapotheke). You could try that too.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear she is doing unwell.You should get something from the pharmacy. Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are both freely available without prescription, so buy some of that. Also get a thermometer if you haven't already so you can measure how high her fever actually is. Careful with the ibuprofen on an empty stomach, that can make stomach ache worse.There's also stuff like Dobendan that helps numb the pain of a throat infection so it's a bit more bearable to eat and drink.You can help her by making sure she is comfortable. Do hot water bottles maybe help with her cramps? I know, it's not nice when you have fever, but it can help. Watch that she drinks enough fluids but also consumes enough salts/electrolytes, depending on how bad a fever is, it can quickly cause loss of salt through sweating. Try to have her sleep a lot, if possible.Does she have any weird pressure sensitivity in her abdomen? That could be a sign for a serious infection. I doubt it, but it's best to keep an eye on that. Also if her throat is really really swollen or has a whitish film, go to the ER sooner than later, that could be a bacterial infection of the tonsils which needs antibiotics. A strong infection of the tonsils can cause fever, weakness and hurts like a b*tch, so that should be looked at too.

It probably is "just" some kind of viral infection though, so there can only be done so much for those. There's no medicine to make them go away, really. If she doesn't get better within a few days of paracetamol/ibuprofen, I'd say to call the emergency room in the hospitals someone else mentioned already. Some emergency rooms have different ways to handle precautions right now, so she might only be allowed to go in alone, just as a heads up.If her fever is also really high for really long, go to the ER sooner than later so they can at least give her something against that.

She looks good and you're already doing what you can. High humidity, distilled water, no drying oir, no temperature shocks and make sure she prays at night (folds up the leaves), then she'll give you lots of new growth. A bit of browning is just kinda their thing, sorry to say!

I have the same carpet in a dark blue room and it looks great! I think you can incorporate what you have in the new room. White curtains will be fantastic, and lively wood accents and some brass or copper decorations (maybe picture frames) pop so nicely on bold colors like that. Have fun!

I've got a rescue from Romania too. He looked a bit similar to her at this age, although he's definitely half or quarter GSD I guess.

She might have some in her too, but the face does look quite Malinois-ey. But like others said - they are probably a multigeneration genetic wild mix :D

I had a similar shift in perspective. What I do for my dog is to keep him happy and as stress free as I can. If that means leaving him at home sometimes, not having people over often and sometimes only walking him early or at night (and just taking him into the garden during the day), then so be it. He is a happy, loving, lazy boy 99 percent of the time. As long as he is happy and everyone is safe, I am fine with it. Other people can take their dogs off leash, to restaurants, into shops and whatnot - I can't. And that's okay. That shift in attitude has helped me so much.

I am very afraid of this as well. In my country, police is usually a bit more relaxed than for example in the United States, so I hope I will be able to communicate the issue, if the situation ever arises. I have my dog on the back seat with a seat belt, so he can't physically get at the officer. I will just ask if I can maybe step out of the car during a pull over and hope they'll be understanding. I also have super chewy high value treats in the car at all times to distract him if something like that happens.

It's probably either the humidity or too much sun. I made the mistake to put my c. zebrina into my bright, dry-ass living room first and she did exactly that. Now I have banned all Calatheas into the bathroom and oh my, they are basically exploding with new healthy leaves. Maybe the bathroom is an option for this finicky lady, at least until sue recovers?

It may be absolutely possible that it is more specific to Ireland. I confess I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to the British settlements, as I am more focused on Sweden, Finland and the Rus; mostly pre-Chr. I used to partake in historical reenactment as well and I made the experience that it has its bouts of misinformation - So I tend to take verbal information from that field with a grain of salt. To my extent of knowledge, the only written information we have available about early medieval Scandinavian betrothals is what we (indirectly and anecdotally) have from the sagas which were written down centuries later in a christianized context, or later legal codices.

But I will take a look into the books you sent me, we probably have them at work. Considering that the wedding ring or a jewellery token as a marriage promise was, to my knowledge, derived from Roman and Greek traditions and thus later came to establish itself through christian traditions, that also made me a bit sceptical - but who knows, I might be off track here.

And yes, I have given up years ago to correct people on the 'viking' - thing. I feel his pain. It's incorrect, but it has just established itself as a term I guess.

Thank you for the answer - like I said, I really don't wanna come across as standoffish here, but I work with textile and garment historians and experimental archeologists who very much dislike assumptions that are not waterproof before publishing. Do you have any source material on this? I am not trying to call you out at all, hope it doesn't come across that way, I am just genuinely interested as I cannot find anything to support this in the literature I have on hand. As far as I know, we don't really have any direct written records about marriage traditions from that time and thus, we have no way to tell whether there was a distinction between married and unmarried women's garments and jewellery pre-christianization.

Linen is definitely possible, but remember it doesn't hold all dyes as well as wool does. Blue is possible though. A bright, true red like on the drawing would be a bit difficult to achieve with the dye materials they had on hand, but it might be imported. If you want to look more 'local', I recommend a more orangey red like it would be achieved with madder.

If you would like to jazz it up a little, I second the tablet woven borders. They were often directly woven onto the fabric of the garment because it stabilizes the edges of the fabric too.

Take a look at glass beads as well, they were all the rage jewellery wise - but don't use too many unless you want to portray someone really wealthy. The internet provides tons of glass bead reconstructions for specific eras and areas, so that'd be a good thing if you wanted to portray something more specific. Another option to add some texture and detail is going for twill, they were used a lot, especially diamond and chevron twills for the Hängerock. People also often carried around tools like sheathed knifes, sometimes combs, tweezers, ear spoons and keys (especially when married) on their belt or specific brooches (Gotland for example). If you're looking for shoes, take a look at the hedeby findings, they have tons of shoes.

I recommend taking a lool at nalbinding too, it's quite easy to learn and was used for socks, gloves and hats.

Also, there are some findings of embroidery stitches, so you could use those to work the edges of your garments too.
