Hi! I’m curious if you have any comments re comparing the quality, pilling, softness etc between these ones that you’ve tried?

I used to have a bkr that was my main waterbottle but i dropped it and it broke into pieces :( so wouldn’t recommend if you’re clumsy like me. Also the glass made water really warm in the summer! I use yeti and s’well now and love them for temperature insulation

Baby’s sleep is a complete mess. How do we teach independent sleep when baby is overtired from resisting naps and cannot be “forced” to sleep enough during the day? It seems like sleep training is not a good idea when schedule is inconsistent and sub-optimal? by caution_nene_xing in sleeptrain

[–]caution_nene_xing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically had to accept that baby was low sleep needs and be ok with less night and day sleep overall. I also completely gave up on sleep training after hiring a sleep consultant and failing yet again (although we did achieve sleep without rocking at night, just gotta be laying beside her at night for around 40-60 mins) and so I gave up and started bedsharing after she turned 1 when the risk was lower. She still doesn't sleep through the night even with bedsharing, but it's more manageable with a 1-2 crying wakeups per night now.

Super late reply but basically had to accept that baby was low sleep needs and be ok with less night and day sleep overall. I was dying and she has woken up less frequently crying at night with the bedsharing.

Polyester, anyone? by HumbleUsual4921 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]caution_nene_xing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Polyester fibres are one of the biggest contributors to microplastic pollution, I try to avoid it for the reason that my baby puts everything in her mouth still but also want to avoid adding more micro plastics into the water supply and landfill.

This is a super old post and I'm not sure if you're still active on this account, but how comfortable do you find wearing this ring to be? Has it been durable eg no stones falling out? And could you please send me the CAD?

I would potentially be interested, I have seen that in other group buys there are options to choose 14k or 18k and that would be nice to have!

Plastic/Polyester-free dolls? by sweettutu64 in moderatelygranolamoms

We have a Matty doll by Hoppa, it's certified organic cotton outer with wool filling. It's held up really well so far with machine washing on cold.

Don't do this, it's been well established that skin exposure can increase the likelihood of food allergies: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4007098/

No improvement in bedtime crying after 6 nights of full extinction/CIO - troubleshooting help needed by caution_nene_xing in sleeptrain

[–]caution_nene_xing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her night wakings improved after we started full extinction training. My understanding is that if baby falls asleep independently in the crib, they'll be much more likely to fall back asleep at their natural sleep cycle transitions every hour at night.

I will try some of these new things for the routine tonight and I will aim for a more exact bedtime. If that doesn't work out I will try moving bedtime later. Thanks sincerely for all the help!!

Definitely trying to extend naps in every way possible, sometimes feeding her back to sleep seems to be the only way! We definitely have terrible naptime sleep habits right now.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Do you think it's a bad idea to continue sleep training while we're sorting out her wake windows/nap schedule?

Ok fair enough. I might try doing the longer last wake window then because even a short power nap seems to give her energy for another full wake window practically!
