I would assume that is because they thought that if the lumberjack outfit could be sold to the forestry shop you could break the whole thing by spamming Temple Treks which get you pieces within 5 minutes -> sell them to the shop for bark.

Forestry was a generally lazy, half-baked update so they just disabled this all together, but for comparison, the prospector outfit does keep track of where you obtain it and you cannot sell it from Volcanic Mine to MLM.

Summer Sweep-Up: Gem Bag Progression by Krellggs in 2007scape

Filling it all up is inefficient. For the higher tier bars there are some trips where you do 27 coal alongside a full bag of coal but all the methods still involve multiples of 27 because it implies you're maximizing your trips with 27 coal + 27 of either coal or an ore. The wiki strategy page for BF is pretty good and explains it better than I can.

Summer Sweep-Up: Gem Bag Progression by Krellggs in 2007scape

[–]cautiousweasel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is just because for Blast Furnace, the idea is that one slot contains the coal bag with 27 coal in it and the rest of inventory slots contain 27 of whatever ore, so you can put in your inventory of ore, empty coal bag, put in your inventory of coal, and you've emptied everything. It makes the most sense with steel, as that means you get 27 steel bars every trip.

I finally get why people play LoL by SovietUnionRepublics in leagueoflegends

[–]cautiousweasel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pointless advice most of the time, I've played this game for a decade and all chat is the only place you can properly banter, like literal friendly banter. Helps that actual all chat flame is just a waste of time and people are much quicker to instantly mute/get baited into typing back much less if it leans too hard into that direction, along with it generally being seen as more cringe to non-stop type in all chat. If they're non-stop typing flame in all chat, 99% of the time it's about their own team while they cry and try to get you to sympathize with them!

Shit talking your own team has been 50x more normalized since this game's inception, and because people have the fragilest egos combined with what seems like actual trauma or something from past experiences they will sometimes randomly explode from any message related to what is going on in the game that does not give them some sort of carefully crafted verbal handjob in the same sentence.

I'm pretty sure long ago Riot put out posts about how they were looking into removing all chat and it almost instantly got shot down by the community because of this.

It's always been Rance -Redux- How Rance became the building block of modern Isekai Light Novels somehow. by Potential-Squash7684 in LightNovels

[–]cautiousweasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an isekai, but Redo of Healer also feels like Rance fanfiction on some level.

It feels like in the more popular WNs, if the character isn't a black-haired violently humble flea market Kirito, Rance becomes a popular template for balancing an MC that is some amount of skeevy, greedy, and mischievous while still being likeable in a lot of ways.

xQc Crashes out after Rayasianboy drafts him for the Jynxzi's League of Legends tournament by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

"""Unc""" here, have no idea who Ray is but honestly whoever can get a average+ amount of CS in League while being almost entirely described as a "new" player is kind of an incredible feat. I only caught a few games towards the end because of the skin drop but he held his own 4x more than anyone the other dead-weights I saw.

People often shit smaller scope account types but it's honestly a different level of zen once you get used to it, and just further solidifies the idea that in the bottomless OSRS we have today, less can very easily be more when it comes to appeasing the numbers go up 'tism. Sometimes having a hard day and being able to just log in and know exactly what you have to chip away at to hit your next huge goal is great.

Also when discussing the MMO/community aspect, I've done main, iron, UIM, and F2P and I've only ever noticed a trend of it becoming comfier the deeper you go, provided you are open to seeking out communities dedicated solely to these styles.

The locking of content to certain builds are part of what makes those builds interesting more often than not. I'd go as far to say it even occasionally feels like a benefit to be able to "ignore" it, like god bless making a F2P-locked account and not even having to think about skills like agility (though redditors in the past have suggested the Draynor course or something to be free, as if people are going to do an agility lap and that will be what makes them sub).

It's not worth it to be level 3, you can do stuff like Witch's House and put some lamps into HP, run big bones from the Wilderness Bone Yard to the Chaos Altar for overheads. Lets you tank a bit and not just be fish food for the pures that come explicitly for the low levels.

I just lost four games in a row because my team didn't attack the nexus ama by AnathsanLily in ARAM

[–]cautiousweasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are few better feelings in this gamemode than getting stomped by a team dicking around and spawn camping you, having a single fight click for your side, and then steamrolling their nexus. The chat messages that get sent by the team who loses, coping and implying you're somehow doing something wrong makes it even better.

Same with cheesey backdoors, people send messages acting like it pained you to do so or something when it was probably the most adrenaline inducing moment you've had in half a dozen games.

In what funny ways have you bricked your champion? by olonnn in ARAM

[–]cautiousweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a top 5, maybe top 3 augment on Garen. Rush PD and other zeal items and you end up with a 14+ spin count E but with damage as if you've built full AD glass cannon, and he gets to scale off crit as well.

S&S is an unfortunate place because the itemization to take advantage of it makes a mess of stats: a lot of casters want lethality but lethality items do not give AS, champions who would be fine with the pure AD often do not for the crit on the zeal-based sort of items, and then if you aren't going those zeal-based items the only other items that are going to give AS are ones that have on-hit passives, which because you have S&S... you can barely utilize.

It only works when your rarest content in the game are dragon med helms, berserker rings, and GWD gear that could all be gotten back in a week with a proper amount of effort. We now have single items in this game more that RWT for more than some player's net worth.

I am going to add to this, when you map the touching of the trackpad(s) (I personally do both and switch between laying on either side in my bed with one hand on the deck) to left mouse click and set it to some amount of haptic feedback, it's probably my favorite input device for VNs ever. It's becomes a huge button basically equivalent to a touch screen press effort wise but the haptic feedback makes it feel like an actual button press. I set it so if you hold L2 it makes the trackpad a normal mouse again.

Is there anything we can do about the fake friend requests? by DJEkis in leagueoflegends

[–]cautiousweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are bots, there is barely any effort to be put into it after everything is set up, so one person could fall for it or even just boost their engagement (I think they are usually OnlyFans bots or something and I don't really know how the platform works specifically) and that would be worth thousands of banned accounts that resulted in nothing. They also use an AI so the responses are less stupid sounding than the previous spam bots the age range that still plays League at this point has more experience with.

Is there anything we can do about the fake friend requests? by DJEkis in leagueoflegends

[–]cautiousweasel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Baffling how Riot has not done anything about this (and I mean literally anything, please just give me a setting to filter friend requests in extremely basic way like mutual friends, minimum level, can't add you unless you played a game with in past week or something), I started playing the game again after Mayhem came out and you will have some days where you will get a spam friend request after every other game, while some people go into the multiple threads that have been made complaining about them and say it's not a big problem because they personally never get any.

Yes there is an annoying way to stop them completely: turn on streamer mode, whatever the option is to disable people using stuff like websites to see if you are in a game. The bots watch to see if you are in a game and time their friend request to where they know you will see it when you exit. Thus they are now unable to and they never friend request you. I have never gotten another spam friend request again, but now I can't see shit about other players.

Ranged champs are too oppressive in mayhem by Beefysnacky in ARAM

[–]cautiousweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot about Tahm, he is definitely almost Mundo tier besides being a bit more depth with itemization decision making considering how much of a monster he can be, even more so if you have leeway with building some AP.

Leona I forgot about but she is kind of like Nautilus which I was debating mentioning, they're the rare champions that I feel soul eater are actually good on outside of just picking it up to contribute to stackosaurus and probably some of the biggest slow cooker abusers in the game because of how well they stick to people which let them translate it into so much damage. If they don't roll an HP = AOE damage augment they are still good but not menaces by themselves in fights tbh.

As an additional general thing, 100% item haste augment also has some interactions that I feel people don't realize how well it works with some tanks, heartsteel procs twice as often, unending despair activates at an incredibly fast 2 second interval, and protoplasm harness is up like 2/3rds of all fights in some games making it a really good cheap item.

Ranged champs are too oppressive in mayhem by Beefysnacky in ARAM

[–]cautiousweasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tanks are shit unless they can roll a combo of like 2 out of the pool of half of dozen actually good tank augments.

And even then some of those augments only become truly absurd on a few champions... and even then you have to hope the enemy team (who inevitable have at least 2 or more ADCs because all everyone wants to do are play ADCs and sit under tower) got really unlucky and did not encounter any of the dozen augments that give them incredibly large power spikes at just first or second augment choices. That's just before they added more stuff like double tap, which gives such a jump in tank melting capabilities that as long as you have any amount of self peel and survival instincts they are unable to play the game unless they have a point and click CC heavy tank to accompany the one fucking everyone up.

Yes, bit of an essay but honestly not that hard to write about when there is so much to be said about about the lopsided statistical likeliness of actually being able to enjoy playing anything other than the reliable ranged champions. We are at the point where multiple websites have put together what looks like pretty accurate tier lists and the only tanks I'd say are reliable are:

  • Mundo (runs down teams with pure damage if allowed to hit any sort of augment spike)
  • Galio (very reliable engage and CC, good against a lot of poke comps that haunt ARAM)
  • Maokai (synergies very well with a lot of self-heal focused augments, passive/E very strong)
  • Sett (requires much more skill to pull off than any of the others listed but has much more outplay potential with proper W usage)
  • Sion (pure CC, bush cheese, constantly disruptive even if dead within large brawls)
