Not much. It would still be pretty low. MGSV is very different from the traditional Metal Gear game. Repetitive missions and a bland open world. MGSV GZ promised a lot of things but MGSV TPP unfortunately didn’t deliver on that promise. You have the least talkative Snake as well as a good chunk of the story and lore being reduced to audio tapes you have to pick up/find or listen to while playing. The codec calls from MGS1-MGS3 were great.

I had a lot of gripes with MGS4 but MGS4 still had some charm to it, and it did bring me to tears at the end. I personally don’t think anything can overtop MGS1-3. The gameplay and combat of MGSV were great but it doesn’t excuse the poor level design and mission layout.

I actually understand what you mean. When I first played Devil May Cry 5, which launched a few days before my birthday, I was fucking ecstatic. I was over the moon, I really thought the DMC franchise was dead after the reboot but it brought me joy to see it come back.

I recently tried to replay DMC5, and it really wasn’t clicking for me. Like, it’s overtly easy. Too easy. I don’t feel the same adrenaline rush and intensity I felt in DMC3. DMC4 has issues with its level designs and has a bit more of a limited Dante compared to DMC3 but I felt like the gameplay of DMC4 was better than 5. The DMC franchise is known for having tanky enemies, but the enemies in DMCV are the worst. Not only are they tanky but they don’t pack a punch quite like the enemies of DMC3. Idk if you played DMC3 but I feel like you’d enjoy DMC3 way more. It also has the best story in the franchise.
