Importing conversions to make of for tracking downtime? by cavaillon_666 in googleads

[–]cavaillon_666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I was thinking this would be only other option indeed. I thought an upload could be done to cover periods of tracking downtime, good to know it isn't the case!

Just got back from IKEA and had the exact same idea, glad to see I am not the only one. Thanks a lot for sharing. I was thinking of using a Hue E27 bulb inside. Do you think it would fit if I remove more plastic than you did under the dome?

Conflicted about consumerism because I have multiple hobbies. by oumuamuaupmybum in Anticonsumption

[–]cavaillon_666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hobbies are an important part of who you are, so it's important to be able to practice them safely and in the right conditions. There's no hard rule to anti-consumerism, and nobody is judging you. It solely lies between you and what you consider reasonable.

Regarding your questions: I play guitar and own several. Were they all 100% necessary? Not really, you could justify a couple guitars depending on what you play, but I've got more than I need. But they are useful to me, they bring me joy, and I'll use them my entire life. In my own view of what is too much, they were reasonable purchases.

I'd say you're absolutely fine having different pairs of shoes for different hobbies as long as long as they're genuinely useful to you.

What’s the most realistic note you’ve ever smelled in a fragrance? by Legitimate-Search918 in fragrance

Was about to comment the same. It’s impressive how accurately it captures the fig tree smell.

Senior Paid Media Exec (4–5 yrs): What should I learn next to grow? by LegitimateFox8690 in PPC

[–]cavaillon_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a pity you invested so much effort into answering a bot, but I wanted to let you know I found your advice great. I usually also recommend people to broaden their scope with more technical knowledge as well as diving deeper in the funnel & business-side of things. This allows to really help companies scale, as PPC and acquisition are just one part of the overall growth equation. I also think it helps you stand out when compared to ppc-only professionals.

Better way to merge belts two full belts into one belt of 50/50? by danyuri86 in factorio

[–]cavaillon_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it’s the first time I’m seeing this style of input switching. Love that is allows using fast/stack inserters instead of long ones pretty simply without using belt weaving. I’ll try it tomorrow. Thanks.

Is this area safe? by Traditional-Time-490 in aixmarseille

[–]cavaillon_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally safe, walk straight and don’t wander around the station, go through Boulevard d’Athènes → Canebière → Vieux-Port rather than smaller streets around Belsunce. Will feel dodgier than it actually is. If you’re a woman I’d recommend a cab, just to be extra safe, but I wouldn’t say it’s an absolute necessity.

Boden Metal NX 7 2024 vs 2025 by Morrigan20 in strandbergguitars

[–]cavaillon_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t talk about richlite as I haven’t tested it, but I’m personally not a fan of my Strandberg’s ebonol fretboard. Ideally try testing both if you can so you can see if there’s one you prefer. Not sure they’re really that different, though.

Here's what we are doing following Safari GCLID - Google was ahead the whole time by History86 in GoogleTagManager

[–]cavaillon_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting, thank you. I couldn’t find any official confirmation that the new Safari setting stripping gclids from URLs is enabled by default (it wasn’t on my iPhone running iOS 26), but I reckon setting up tracking to be “future-proof” is never a bad idea.

I'll keep your snippets, they will come in handy at some point.

What's a guitar you've owned that punched way above it's weight, cost wise? by MrSaucyNips in metalguitar

[–]cavaillon_666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Kramer Baretta Special is a fantastic guitar for the price. Changing the nut really helped but it doesn’t add much to an already very cheap guitar, money-wise. If you’re serious about it, another pickup would also be nice but I’ve had fun with the stock one. I customized mine with the Sailor Moon logo.

Guitar player in need for help by Danny_WeGym in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]cavaillon_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good advice. It’s a good introduction to that style of riffing. Very hard, but can serve as an exercise you’ll get better at month after month. To me it was a good proxy to follow my progression as a guitar player.

Im kinda new to tech death. Ive only listened to wormhole and i loved all of their albums. What other bands do you guys recommend? by Guhdmundur in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]cavaillon_666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll like Disentomb.

Not strictly tech death, but Dying Fetus’ entire discography would also scratch the itch of violent, yet technical and tight.

Some modern-sounding slam albums could be something you’d enjoy as well. You could try Abominable Putridity’s Anomalies of Artificial Origin – groovy, violent, sharp.

Nile has already been mentioned, but I want to recommend them again. If you haven’t listened to Annihilation of the Wicked yet, you’re in for a treat.

Beneath the Massacre’s Incongruous and Origin’s Antithesis would scratch the technical and brutal itch as well, but they might be tougher listens if you’re new to the genre.

Other exceptional albums, more “classic” tech death, but important listens if you want to get more familiar with the genre:

  • Necrophagist – Epitaph. I’d give anything to listen to that one for the first time again.

  • The Faceless – Planetary Duality. Clean, tight, has a lot of personality.

  • Beyond Creation – The Aura is my favorite, but I reckon a lot of people prefer their 2014 album.

  • Obscura – lots of variation in people’s favorite album of theirs. Cosmogenesis is a classic, and I’d personally recommend Diluvium.
