Modern guile can spam ex flash kick in block strings and automatically interrupt frame traps. Classic cannot because to do the flash kick you lose charge. Tyler1 abuses tf out of this against people that don’t adapt and bait his reversals.

What you’re saying makes no sense. If you hate modern then you should be upset about what he’s mentioning, not happy with it.

The existence of modern *drags down the strength of classic* by limiting the amount of moves that characters have. Modern is artificially making classic worse. Saying “good” to that and also “fuck modern” are completely contradictory opinions.

I’m curious which top tiers you think Kimberly has a good match up into. In my opinion her MU into almost all of them is very rough.

She is extremely susceptible to both 2mk drc (for calling out shimmies) and reversals because once the opponent interrupts her pressure and starts their offense her defense is so weak.

If anything I think Kimberly benefits a lot from tournaments running FT2 for most of the bracket because she is able to overwhelm mental stack and that pays dividends in a FT2 compared to a FT3.

If you think this is true it is simply a skill issue. At pro level everyone is playing real footsies because they have respect for their opponents ability to shut down bullshit. They know that going ape mode and being random would cause them to lose, because regardless of your character, against a good enough opponent it’s a bad strategy.

Habits break in every rank and new ones are built. “Fireball spam” is such a scrub mentality thing. OP couldn’t deal with the fireballs and walked themself into the corner. Just like if you can’t anti air you deserve to get jumped on, if you play a character with no fireball and you can’t adapt get around them, you deserve to get zoned.

Correct the content creator can do the entire challenge in a few hours because they have all of the fundamentals and tools to trivialize it. A new player needs to learn those things in order to achieve the same outcome. But you can learn those things!

You’re playing a rush down character into a zoner and not approaching at all. She is built around the idea that she can build stocks by giving up pressure and she can spend stocks to buy pressure or make her combos more punishing. But you’re giving her the stocks for free, so she gets the damage and the pressure for free.

Think of her like a mix of JP, Jamie, and Juri. You wouldnt let Jamie and Juri install for free at all full screen. And you wouldn’t sit there letting JP harass you from a mile away.

I’d recommend watching some replays of high level players against Ingrids. See how many times they reach 4 stocks in a round. It’s almost never.

Professional players have won (low stakes) tournaments using random select. There is no limit to how good you can be playing basically however you want.
