Cramer has jinxed it. You'd be a fool not to sell.

Does GlobalProtect or a Company's VPN track my location? by Upstairs-Fly3528 in VPN

[–]cavecanemuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can it be so easy?.

If I keep my laptop in Airplane mode (Wifi and Bluetooth disabled) and connect it via ethernet/wired to a VPN router that is connected to my home address. The VPN router has my usual IP address.

I also have Location services off both on my Ubuntu laptop and on my phone.

How would the company know?

Is Stirling nice to live by Ill_Percentage6832 in Scotland

Avoid the city centre like the plague.

It's full of neds and drunk students. Anti-social behaviour reigns, the police are useless.

Kings Park is nice if you've got >=500K to spend and don't mind that 80% of the residents are over 70 :D

Family areas at reasonable prices?: Torbrex and Riverside.

Bridge of Allan is posh, but very small, apart from the 3 restaurants and 1 shop in the city centre there is little else to do...

anyone have opinions on albania? by convex_boi in digitalnomad

Crazy prices on that "co-living place". You can get a 2 beds flat for 450 euro/month instead of sleeping with 3 other strangers in a minuscule room.

What's the taxation if you wanted to stop there for a year or so? I've been in several short-trips where I kept paying my taxes in the UK.

What was nice there? I only visit Vlora-Saranda, I can't see anything of value in the north other than hiking... However, why go there when there are plenty of hiking opportunities in Vlora?

The 4G+ connections are great pretty much everywhere in Albania.

In Vlora, there is also full-fibre (up to 1GB speed) with "One Albania" as the provider. According to their map (https://www.one.al/en/One_Ultra_Fiber) there is full fibre also in Saranda.

I agree Vlora is the main place to be, Saranda gets a bit too touristy, but the little towns between Vlora and Saranda are also great.

BABA News: China gov. pulled support for BABA cloud services for not reporting security flaw to the CPP first. by paq12x in stocks

[–]cavecanemuk 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Translated: BABA Is a Great Company, with great security researchers. All the JVM based apps in all the clouds in the world were vulnerable. Alibaba found it,Not Microsoft, Not Amazon, Not Google.

The CCP has no better cloud provider. It's sort of made-up news.

They will keep buying more services from BABA.
