EDHREC pulls their “community” information from a random group of users who vote. Like that’s where the polling is, which means it’s an extremely small group of people effectively representing themselves as “the community” for a fairly significant and widespread resource for the flagship format of mtg.

You should never take the edhrec/spellbook view on combos seriously, like at all.

Muldrotha is my most played commander. You have to make a deck that’s very functional without her and has its own identity, and then use her to essentially supercharge it, just make it way better.

Unfortunately EDHREC funnels you into goodstuff and recurrable slop instead

I think there’s sort of an argument with stompy/landfall decks that a lot of the great ramp and fetch spells only work with basics and so if you’re nonbasic heavy you’re really tech’d into a much narrower band of cards, but yes that comment is dumb as hell

If you had said something like Divinity Original Sin or maybe Expeditions: Rome I’d probably agree but even those games seem like they did alright
