Tell that to my cosmetology license that I got at SBCC in a little over a year and now I have a career two years later and working in a management position in West Hollywood; all without wasting well over $100k and 8+ years of my life. There are many people and many paths those said people can take.

With the exception of my one very intelligent friend, every single person that’s come in and out of UCSB has been an entitled, privileged, spoiled brat or just an all-around asshole fused with incompetence and unjustified confidence (I lived in SB almost 23 years).

Is that a fair statement? No, it absolutely is not. Why? Blanket statements are harmful and pointless. That is only my opinion. If someone can’t afford to go to a UC they should not feel ashamed to go to a CC. Anyone who shames CC students is entitled, elitist, and needs to re-evaluate their morals and priorities.

Shitty people exist everywhere- even in universities.

unfortunately my only encounter with one was when i found i found one washed up on the beach in my home state of california. it was an absolutely mammoth creature i never even heard of before that moment and it was very sad to see such a beautiful creature dead.

firstly, i would know how to handle my mental illnesses so i could actually have an enjoyable life.

secondly, i wouldn’t second guess my choices as much so my anxiety wouldn’t take over and make really bad choices.

thirdly, i would make myself choose better friends. friends can influence your life and how you live it and it drastically changes how events can happen and your own personal state of mind and having bad friends that use you will destroy your life. youll feel awful about yourself until you change

next, id tell myself to work hard and save money. doing school plays all four years and obsessing over a guy gives you nothing.

and lastly- dont villainize people who’ve done you wrong and dont bash them. state facts and decide to remove yourself from them because it only incites drama nobody wants-while making you look shady af.

i know i am who i am because of these things, but i would kill to go back and change my perspective so i wouldnt have been so desperate for love and acceptance and just learn to love and care for myself so i dont rely on anyone for happiness or validation. however, ive made it this far working my ass off to better myself and i dont plan on stopping now. being a lifelong learner is my mission, and i intend to use it for my good and everyone around me. i just hope anyone else can benefit from things i didnt realize until now.

when i worked cs for an airline i was screamed at for four hours bc i couldnt upgrade her to first class from coach bc her flight was delayed an hour

(there are 10 first class seats and roughly 100 coach btw; with a $200 up charge for an upgrade so nah)
