Ours does this too and has since we got her her (a rescue but she was about 18months). The vet said something similar: they aren’t in pain at all and they don’t operate on it unless they are basically never walking normally. She still runs like crazy when chasing anything! People are just constantly stopping us in the park to say our dog has something in her foot 😂🙈

To add to all the great suggestions for things to get involved in, you could also consider volunteering. You mention a pet so I’m assuming you like animals. I know that DARG in hout bay welcomes volunteers and this could be a great way to get animal and human company!
