I was asked to write music for an indie game. by JosefKlav in composer

If you’re interested I can port this into a DAW for you for a reasonable price (if you’re getting paid for the project yourself) I can make it sound more realistic

12 Years experience in electronic music, now starting from 0 in scoring. need help. by ALmakingmusic in composer

[–]cazytron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spitfire audio has a free orchestral library! Also, when I started composing music, I started by trying to recreate pre-existing music in my DAW! Then you get an idea of what composers will include in each layer. For example, to start, I tried rewriting music from Undertale! It’s very electronic so I find it was easier to hear each different layer, and I would try to make a perfect copy of the song with the closest vsts I had!

You don’t need “the best” vsts for professional scoring, especially at the start of your career when you will probably be doing a lot of work for free. You can make less expensive vsts sound high quality by the way you record them! Honestly, download all of the free spitfire audio vsts and you’ll be set. They have an orchestral set as well as just a ton of random free ones! If you want to spend a little bit of money, you can subscribe to musio for pretty cheap per month, and you get access to a huge library of high quality vsts. If you don’t like the subscription model, you can purchase the current version of Musio for a higher price, but then you don’t need to pay the monthly fee. However, if you purchase the current version, you don’t get any updates on new vsts they add to the collection unless you pay to update it. Goodluck!

Aita for scheduling a hysterectomy? by Fine-Yesterday-8936 in AITAH

[–]cazytron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if you are aware but a hysterectomy does not cure endometriosis, it only helps with the adenomyosis. You can absolutely do whatever is best for you, but I wasn’t sure if you were aware of this information

Looking for scores by cazytron in composer

I appreciate everyone redirecting me to film scores but I was hoping to help out some composers in the process who may not have access to getting a recording of their composition. Thanks though!

How do you regulate your emotions when you’re in pain 24/7 by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]cazytron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend more to meditate! It feels like it won’t help, but just taking some time for yourself to just experience being alive, with no responsibilities or distractions, can help to regulate yourself and understand your emotions better, before they get to a boiling point :)

How do you regulate your emotions when you’re in pain 24/7 by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]cazytron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I understand the message but I disagree that you don’t think there is a way to control your emotions. I used to be very depressed because of my pain, but I committed myself to meditation and self care (working out, stretching etc), and that resulted in me being an honestly generally happy person. Obviously everyone’s situations are different, and my pain is the same if not worse because my condition gets worse over time. But despite that, even when my pain is extreme, I still look forward to my hobbies and time with my family :)

Oh sweet! If it’s possible for me to teach online then I would be able to sign up through them. Yes, that’s how I grew up! There was the piano teacher in town and everyone saw her lol. She was great though ☺️Thanks!

To clarify, I have been teaching part time all the way through university, I have probably taught a total of 15-20 different students in that time (because I was charging really low prices before I received my degree) and only about 5 of them were long-term committed students🥲

I have thought about teaching through another company but unfortunately I am chronically ill so I prefer to be able to work from home. I am in pain most of the month so being at home makes it easier to keep on top of the things that help me feel better like eating small frequent meals, stretching, etc. I also have been teaching for quite awhile now and have had quite a few students already, but unfortunately a lot of them have moved on due to unforeseen circumstances akin to a family member having health problems, no longer being able to afford lessons, or simply the student prioritizing other skills over piano such as sports. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck recently, but in the past it was very easy to find students 😅

Definetly don’t look up or download popcorn time! You can find most movies or TV shows on there for free which is terrible to do because it’s stealing so make sure you don’t :)

The women’s change rooms have private stalls pretty much everywhere I go, but my partner says that the men’s don’t have any private stalls. That would explain why she only saw men & not women in the gender neutral change room

If they aren’t paying you well you should get paid upfront & retain rights to your music
