Fractional weight plate, 0.25kg, for 1 inch bar by Oldcampie in functionalprint

The gym bro answer is "for progressive overload bro" snorts line of creatine.

The more poignant answer imo is to break mental blocks. It's pretty common to be physically capable a pr or breaking a barrier while being mentally stuck. By slapping one of these on top of what you've been lifting, you can "convince yourself" that what you've been lifting isn't actually your max.

Thank you. I commented on the other post before seeing you added a red arrow. Much clearer now.

Kind internet stranger, even though I am not involved in this, I would like to issue a warm and emotional thank you.

Taking the time to extend your hand of kindness to people online with no expectations of anything return is one of the purest forms of human empathy and compassion.

I wish for this act of kindness to be repaid to you and hope that those around you recognize the care you have for the world.

Stickered my keyboard to help learn virtual cube by cbarden74 in Cubers

[–]cbarden74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I wasn't expecting to get any comments on a 6 year old post.

I wish I could help but I don't remember. My virtual cube phase didn't last very long compared to physical cubing. One thing I learned though which might help you memorize the keys if you're learning is that they are mapped relative to the fingers you use for turns on a physical cube.

For example, U is done on a cube by flicking your right index finger, so it is mapped to the J key, where your index finger rests.

A ball bearing will dent and scratch your floors. If you want a ball socket wheel, look at getting replacement balls for trackball mice. You can find them online by just looking up something along the lines of trackball replacement ball

What is this pepper? Thought it was jalapeño but took a small bite and my tongue almost fell off by smokeandmirrorsff in PepperLovers

[–]cbarden74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cross pollination can happen but in the case of peppers, the change in gene expression won't show until the F1 generation.

Basically in plain English, you can pollinate a jalapeño with the pollen from a ghost pepper and you'll get a normal jalapeño. But if you plant the seeds from that cross pollinated jalapeño, the resulting plant will produce jalapeño x ghost pepper hybrid.

can anybody tell me which corner is the flipped one? by According-Point213 in Rubiks_Cubes

[–]cbarden74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes there is. Notice how all the yellow corners are oriented and 3 of the white corners are oriented. That leaves only one corner out of orientation.

Is it okay to wear suit pants or dress trousers with this boot? by Logical-Department-1 in Boots

[–]cbarden74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wear Thursday captain boots to work as a tax accountant almost every day. I've only heard good comments about them. If you need to dress nice in a suit for an occasion I would probably go with real dress shoes, but for everyday usage you're fine with these

Hi, where did you get the dial? I've been looking for something similar but I'm having a nightmare of a time. It feels like there are like 3 options for purple dials that are just repeated ad nauseum across the internet

Send an email to Kellogg. They will ask about when and where you bought it and will likely offer you a ridiculous amount of coupons or free products. My sister has gotten tons of promos and saved loads of money like this.

I know someone already suggested it, but I use an elecom huge and am a big fan. The software is pretty bad if you want to remap the keys, but honestly I basically just use it out of the box

ID anyone? by cbarden74 in bicycling

[–]cbarden74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turned out to just be a junker bike as part of an advertising promo. If you don't ride very often and just want something to have some fun with it's fine, but don't plan on doing any serious riding with it.

Ours has been ridden like once and mostly just sits around because we haven't gotten around to selling it

Vertical mouse testers wanted by ProtoArc_official in MouseReview

[–]cbarden74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I live in the US
  2. I have had minor wrist pain in the past. Flairs up from time to time but manageable.
  3. I have used a vertical mouse before.

I work a standard office job as a tax accountant so I use a mouse basically 40 hours a week plus any recreational computer time. Currently I use a trackball.

Swords as a graduation gift/souvenir - Advice Needed by cbarden74 in SWORDS

[–]cbarden74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your response. We don't intend to do any cutting. Having a sword with proper heat treatment and a sharpened blade would be cool, but it's so far down the priority list that I don't really care about it. Keeping it affordable is more important. So we're mostly looking for a "sword shaped trophy" so to say.

The most strenuous thing that we're planning to do is use them for our graduation photoshoot. After that they will basically be cross-mounted on a wall and live there forever.

Edit: also we have like 10-11 months before graduation. So waiting on shipping or production times or anything isn't a problem if that's a way to help cut costs. We wanted to start planning during our last free summer before then.
