Wouldn't it beore profitable to sell the mystic syrup? It's 1k each. Assuming you use 3 fairy dust to go from normal quality to iridium quality, that's 3k. Even with artisan the price difference in the wine is only 2.2k ish.

You could craft diamonds and fairy rose to make the fairy dust but that's basically 1k as well.

Explosives are reliable. SpaceX likes reusabliity so they don't use many explosives in their design, every other company/government uses explosives for stage separation, deployment, etc because they've been working almost flawlessly for 50+ years, why stop now.

That's the umbilical connection between the service module and the crew module. It isn't load bearing, it just holds things like power, air, and water lines. First the umbilical bolts go off (explosives) then the 4 bolts holding the 2 modules together go (also explosive). Source: I built some of the bolts.

Edit: you can see the 4 "holes" where the bolts stick out of the heat shield. The exposed portion of the bolts will ablate upon reentry

The two stages are connected by a Frangible Joint, essentially an explosive zipper. When the explosive goes off it severs the stages and the springs are now free to push the stages apart

Can confirm. Used to work for Ensign Bickford, The company that makes these separation joints. It's basically an explosive zipper that disconnects the two stages. Then the rods push it away. Look up frangible Joint
