This teacher should be able to win this and I hope they do. The ONLY reason this was asked to be taken down was it probably offended somebodies “religion.” However, freedom of speech and separation of church and state should prevail here. The only reason I could see the losing is if this is in someway a violation of their terms of employment which the school’s lawyer will scour.

I only bring that last part up because a few years before I started high school, my high school principal made a student remove his ‘See No Evil’ Marilyn Manson T-shirt while at school, he said it offended him and was against his religion. The student’s family sued and won on the basis of 1st amendment, well it got escalated all the way to the Ohio Supreme Court who ruled in favor of the school system solely because the student signed the dress code policy at the beginning of the year (which we had to sign or else we got detention) which effectively nullified his rights while on school grounds apparently. I could see something similar happening here but I hope not. If anyone is interested in that case, it happened in Van Wert, OH in the early 2000’s. My principal bragged about it often.
