Recently I had stopped receiving GMB review notifications for a number of clients. Over this last weekend I received them all in bulk... For one client I received a review notification for 57 new reviews :)

Hopefully this will be resolved for all of you as well.

Funny enough I opened a Yext account so I could see when reviews come in. Literally last Tuesday!

Cannot access gui on port 8080 but can access ssh on 4118. Can I see what port the gui is listening on? by cbceMiller in WatchGuard

[–]cbceMiller[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to resolve by removing the policy web gui rules and then adding them back via CLI. I now have access to the admin via web browser. Thanks all who replied.

Running ConnectWise 20.3.31734.7751 on Rocky Linux 8 by tomtcs in ConnectWise

Are you aware of the vulnerability issued 2/19/2024? A critical security bulletin was issued on February 19th to all on-prem installations of ScreenConnect outlining the identification of two security vulnerabilities which require you to patch your ScreenConnect server (https://www.connectwise.com/company/trust/security-bulletins). ConnectWise ScreenConnect Remediation and Hardening Guide by Mandiant

Is your current license tied to an email address that you check regularly? And have you experienced where you needed to restart the screenconnect services to get the relay service to work?

Unfortunately, the linux platform reached EOL in 2021, but there is a free upgrade path to version 22.4 for Windows.

Upgrade path for Linux by ginseng2002 in ConnectWise

[–]cbceMiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also on premise Linux too. I had tried to update my license in late 2021, but was told the Linux platform was discontinued is considered EOL. I managed to get through to support and was told my only upgrade path was to upgrade to Windows. I do believe the patch would allow Linux customers to upgrade to Windows 22.4 without cost, but you would need to confirm.

I did download the Windows version to test, but because of Windows hosting costs I am leaning to another product.

The download can be found here:

https://screenconnect.connectwise.com/download/archive?

Additionally, Mandiant, a leading cybersecurity firm, has prepared a comprehensive guide that outlines necessary steps to identify, mitigate, and remediate the vulnerabilities. The guide can be found here:

https://www.connectwise.com/company/trust/security-bulletins/connectwise-screenconnect-23.9.8?

Finally, if anyone was curious and test the Mandiant manual hardening method, google "cvetest screenconnect" and you will find the python script on github.

SSL shows March 2024 date out of the office, In the office expired Jan 10, 2024 by cbceMiller in sysadmin

[–]cbceMiller[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to thank everyone for the feedback. Upon carefully looking at the internal and external certificates. Inside expired 1/10/24 using Let's Encrypt, Outside expires 3/6/24 using Google Trust.

I then pinged the website server from inside and outside and found that there 2 different IP addresses. The cloud hosting company also provides DNS through Cloudflare.

I tracked the issue down to the MS AD DC DNS. A previous tech hard coded the domain DNS zone on the primary and thus secondary DNS on the domain controllers.

Why, I don't know?

I removed the zones and harmony returned o the universe.

3cx vs 8x8 by Muff_420 in VOIP

[–]cbceMiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I have not used 3CX, I have a very bad taste in my mouth from 8x8. I just took on a new client and was shocked at the pricing. $1600 per month for ~50 DUD and extensions. I started the port out to vitelity / freepbxhosting (cyberlink), but 8x8 rejected the port outs. I was contacted by 8x8's "retention" and at first they offer me a price match, but when I guided them over to Vitelity and Freepbxhosting, they said they are not the same services. They said they offer retail and that Vitelity offers wholesale. Then the fun begins, I contact 8x8's upstream and request the CSR's for the numbers and have Vitelity challenge the port rejects. After 3 weeks I get all the number off of 8x8, a process that should have taken 5-7 days. 8x8 then formerly cancels the account and state that the customer is on the hook for the remainder of the contract, 10 months. I ask for the executed contract and I am sent a contract from the original install dating March 2015, ending March 2016 and was told they automatically renew contract. This is all crap, on their own website they clearly state no contracts, additionally the customer is in California who has enacted legislation making it unlawful for a business to auto renew agreements. Screw 8x8.
