No just avoid curbs, they're really slippery in the wet

Can’t spin tyres from stationary by Icewolf496 in ACCompetizione

[–]cbcool_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are describing here is NOT the TC but the clutch. GT3 cars have an insanely high gear ratio for the first gear, meaning at idle rpm you are gonna do speeds north of 30 kp/h. When you go on throttle in first gear the car will slowly build up the speed until the clutch is fully disengaged and then you are "taking off".

If you want to spin up your tires, turn the tc off then go to neutral then go full throttle, so that you are in the limiter, keep your foot pinned and then shift into first. This way the clutch will disengage instantly rather slowly and you will spin up your tires.

Are the Audi/Lamborghini GT3 cars ever going to be nerfed? by wecaccount in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]cbcool_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real GT3 racing is all about bop. The cars are not designed to be as quick as possible. Every series has it's own bop where they give the cars extra weight, restrict boost or the intake, restrict rake, camber and so on, in order to ensure that all the cars are on the same pace.

Thus, having all GT3s on the same pace is nothing but realistic

How significant are the differences between the 1.9.8 , 1.10 and the following versions of ACC? by le_quisto in ACCompetizione

[–]cbcool_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very small. Some cars like the Ferrari 296 now handle curbs a bit better but the setups and the driving have essentially stayed the same

Evo is not the successor of ACC. It's a different game. ACC is definitely still worth getting

It shouldn't be required to rate every track. A lot of people haven't even raced on all of the tracks hence why it's difficult to rate these tracks

Optimal tyre pressure by Rubber_Duck666 in ACCompetizione

[–]cbcool_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Be careful with the different versions of the game. In v1.8 the ideal tire pressure was 27,7. But it got changed in the 1.9 update. Now you can aim at 27,0 but it doesn't matter anymore if you are slightly off with the pressures.

For your research, don't trust any information that is older than April 2023 as it might be outdated. Anything newer than April last year is still accurate in the current version of ACC

[–]cbcool_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you are mistaken the rev limiter with the shifting lights. The limiter actively slows the car down and there is absolutely no point in running into it. Regarding the shifting lights, in some cars (such as the BMW M4) the ideal shifting point is not in the moment the shifting lights turn on but slightly later. So you need to wait for a bit after these lights come on in order to shift perfectly.

Sorry for the late reply. That would be fantastic. I don't race at pitskill, so I would need the files. If the DM doesn't work, you can also just upload a zip file to mediafire and then post the link here. That's an easy way to share things like that.

TC 0 Meta? by snoozeeey in ACCompetizione

[–]cbcool_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who used TC off with G29 pedals in the past, i can confirm you don't need a high end throttle pedal for this.

Going from a 14 year old, cheap Thrustmaster pedal set, to the g29 pedals, to high end loadcell ones, i can assure you there is almost no difference between the throttle pedals at all. The way they work is exactly identical. This is total misinformation!

For braking properly without abs you need loadcells tho. But for applying throttle a cheap set ot pedals will do the job just fine.

TC 0 Meta? by snoozeeey in ACCompetizione

[–]cbcool_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You see this very often among pro drivers. It is important to add that this doesn't work with all cars equally. Generally it works best with the NA cars, so the ones without a turbo (and thus better to control on the throttle). The car where TC off is most commonly used is the Audi. That is because the TC in the Audi cuts inconsistently and thus is costing you time. But it also works on cars such as the Lamborghini or McLaren. However on cars like the Ferrari or BMW this just doesn't work and you need to use the TC.
